Comparable in what way? In software? A burning tire fire. In support? A dead cat. In customer satisfaction? A hurricane. Don't blow it, dude - don't ever buy a non Nexus Android handset. If you're at a crossroads, one path leads to a huge pit of flaming spikes and deadly poison+insects, and the other is a P drat Deece Android smartphone.

HTC 10 is getting some really stellar reviews across the board right now. They'll be at Verizon corporate stores to play with tomorrow if you want to see it in person since they aren't available for sale yet. Some people in the thread have said HTC has bad customer service but I've yet to see or hear that elsewhere. Motorola on the other hand...well. See a few posts above this one.

If you really want the HTC 10 you should wait 3 months and get whatever they end up calling the Marlin.

They've always released Nexus phones in November; why do you feel these will come in July?

This is what he said:

It's typical for Nexus devices to launch alongside new versions of Android. If the phones are "Android N devices" that might mean they'll launch alongside Android N, which Google has said will release this summer. Could we see Nexus devices at Google I/O?

While he's right, new devices come with new versions, we generally also get a new software version in November along with the telephones. That having been said you do have a point, we got the N dev preview earlier and they did say summer for N...

Considering I need a new phone sooner rather than later, I'm going to choose to believe you're correct. :)

There haven't been even the slightest rumors as far as I'm aware, but usually when a new version of Android debuts earlier in the year it shows up on a Nexus tablet.

DO YOU HEAR THAT? THAT'S THE SOUND OF ME PATTING MYSELF ON THE BACK.

"Android N device" this year is going to be a new Nexus tablet, likely made by Hauwei. It will be similar to what happened to both Nexus 7 models. They launched 4.1 and 4.3 respectively in the summer.

I mean, N's party piece is multi-window support that's most useful in tablets. Also, they removed the N9 from the Google Play store earlier this week, so at the moment there is no Nexus tablet for the first time in almost 4 years.

Because some people wear pants so tight that having anything in the front pockets is going to look like the weirdest boner ever and think it's either that or cargo pants because properly-fitting pants don't exist.

I need to go pay off my old phone and get a new one. I know when I added a line for my daughter I got a really good deal going through the kiosk at Costco. Any suggestions as to whether doing that or going to an actual Verizon store would be better for my case?

Kinda depends on how much you're looking to spend and if you're on contract or willing to go on contract. The Moto X Pure and both Nexus phones support Verizon, buy one of those instead.

The answer is this person is either outright or inadvertently lying. The likely scenario is you sat on it, or your dog or wife sat on it but didn't tell you.

I just got back from tinkering with the HTC 10 at a Verizon store. It is extremely nice. It feels way better in hand than the S7 and Edge do. Those feel so fragile compared to it. The display isn't as bright as the 7, but it looks much cleaner and clearer. Even with the bloat Verizon puts on the app drawer is almost empty. It's really weird. I know some of you are "Nexus or death" but if this is what HTC is going to put into the Nexus then it's going to be a very nice phone.

Yeah. It hopefully won't turn red when you accidentally run your phone through the washing machine. Not that I'd know anything about that.

It had a small hole pierced into it (long story). I take it that won't affect the function of the phone at all?

You used a pointy object to push out the sim card, and you thought the white dot was part of the sim card. Don't be embarassed, I almost did the same thing. :)

It probably won't do anything besides bone your warranty (on a budget phone), but I'm really no expert.

:smith: I didn't have the heart to tell my friend. I've told her not to get the phone wet if the back cover isn't on. The phone otherwise works as expected, but I'd replace it out of my own pocket if something hosed up because of it. I am ashamed.
