Fallon is often described as "at least it's not Lemoore".

I've never heard anyone figure out a positive way to spin Lemoore.

Find a local place and install good air filters, then go to Yosemite every weekend?

I was stationed at NAS El Centro for more than 4 years. San Diego was 1 1/2 hours away and there was a huge amount of public desert land in the area. Camping out there was good fun, and pretty lawless.

Yeah, if Yosemite is an option always choose Yosemite.

"At least it's not Fallon." I mean, unless you like doing your shopping at possibly the worst Walmart I've ever seen.

The Fernley (30 min west of Fallon) Walmart is easily the worst one I've ever seen. Worse than the one on the poor side of Panama City, FL. It also hosts the dirtiest people in the country every year during Burning Man.

The best things about Fallon so far are my paycheck and Tahoe.

I heard one of the sponsors telling a guy over the phone to not worry about Lemoore because they have a lot of things near the base. Although that "near base" requires a car to get to and not just you walking a few blocks to a bus stop that takes you there. It is really difficult to name off positive things about a place where the closest ER is two towns over.

If you're in the Fallon area, "two towns" is over an hour away.

I'm about 45 minutes from the nearest brewery. Or the nearest bar that's not aimed at the "3am walmart with a full moon" crowd.

Tons of food stuffs under the H1, just takes a little digging on Yelp to find them. Once you arrive at Pearl, Aiea is just down the road and they have some decent food, nothing crazy Hawaiian though.

There is that place under h1 that does bomb rear end shakes. Can't remember the name though.

During the week hit up the steak plate joint at the pearl harbor fleet store.
Honestly the best one around

If you go into town, get dinner at Keo's.

Oh ffs it's closed now >: (

Boston's pizza on Kam hwy just past Pearl Harbor is really good. It's not Hawaiian or anything just really good pizza if you like NY style.

If you have nowhere to be today, Id recommend going down to Chinatown. A lot of great restaurants down there.

Of note, Scratch Kitchen and Bake Shop, Lucky Belly, Little Village Noodle House, or Murphy's. There's tons more though

Oh poo poo, if you see a church fundraiser selling steak stop right there and eat two orders. There used to be one on base kind of by the chapel but that was 10 years ago.
