Then again, I've never in my life heard an English speaker correctly pronounce "ü", so maybe I'm a bit unfair. :v:

I speak Danish, which uses the same pronounciation, but I don't know phonetics and I can't render it correctly with English. It sounds like you pronounce the 'y' at the end of 'Destiny' after the sibilant s.

Oh poo poo, agesilaus used to be named grumblefish didn't he? That guy was nuts, or hilarious, or both, I could never tell.

He used to post in the law school/lawyer thread about how defense attorneys were morally bankrupt because they knowingly defended guilty people, and one time he flipped out in a games thread about civ 4: colonization because he didn't like how the noble kings of Europe were portrayed as foppish oafs.

It's too bad he's banned, his posts were something else.

Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure that guy was some kind of Dark Enlightenment type before that became the delusion of choice for internet wackos.

My very first post on these forums was a reply to him :3:

I remember one time a rereg or tribute act did an ancient Chinese philosopher bit where they argued against socialism because we should only concern ourselves with affairs relating to "persons of quality".

We've finally hit the end of the Imperial Japanese Bombs inventory. :toot:

What does the last batch contain for the viewer? Well, for starters there are a few remaining markers and indicators, including one partially made with cardboard. In addition, we get to see the Japanese window bomb. What's a window bomb? Well, basically it's a bomb filled with metal strips (or sometimes paper with 1 side painted) that is used to "jam" enemy radar. You can read more here. Back at the blog, there's the Baka piloted bomb - officially known as the MXY-7 Ohka suicide aircraft and, lastly, a bomb-launching device used for "land bombardment". Check it out!

Looking through his post history, it's kinda funny that he reverts into something more nearly resembling a normal human being in the law thread compared to his pomposity elsewhere - presumably because he felt that other lawyers were his intellectual and moral equals.

Shame he was before my time, I would have loved to ask him what exactly he figured constituted the "moral worth" he valued so highly in people.

Actually kinda curious about this - how many great Chinese generals can this thread name, and what were their notable exploits?

I'm sure there must have been a few contenders for "greatest general ever" in there somewhere, but I'm personally damned if I can name any (that aren't semi-mythological).

Like I said - semi-mythological.

In that vein there's a pretty cool story about how Sun Tzu trained palace maids as soldiers to demonstrate his skills to a prospective employer, but I have no idea of its veracity.
