So I don't know if he's legally entitled to profits or if those go to the other person, although I guess they probably have some sort of understanding/agreement so chances are higher than the initial estimated 0%. The problem in cases like this is that if someone goes ahead and uses your stuff without permission, it's then on you to sue them to get them to stop or to get any money, and if you're an ordinary person and they're a giant corporation, it's probably not worth even trying because they can just keep you tied up in court until you run out of money and can't go any further, and then they win by default. The only way you'd get anywhere is if you can make them look bad enough that it affects their profits, but with stuff like this there's a general perception that stuff published on the internet is basically public domain, so the company isn't likely to take much flak for stealing it. Here is someone from my old university writing a letter to the editor complaining that the university isn't doing enough for white men. http://m.dailyegyptian.com/opinion/article_d60c1266-0b1b-11e6-aa8a-7b56b676553d.html?mode=jqm The context of the article is that there have been a spike of off campus, non-student related shootings. This prompted a racist video to be released on YouTube condemning the suspect using racial slurs.

So there's this new Facebook page that came out like weeks ago that's against a student movement on my campus. The header image is our movement at a student protest that made national news. Since our group is mainly comprised of BDS movement members, BLM movement members, Socialist Groups, and (mostly) radical feminists I get why some people would be wary to support us. This page however posts memes and lovely Youtube videos to 'combat' us. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iR2nh_XmfkA Icing on the cake is that they submitted an op-ed to our student paper to combat a previous op-ed in support of our movement. It's kind of disgusting, and they posted it on Facebook when our student paper wouldn't publish it.

SCA Enthusiast posted:Is "Reclaim OSU" a general catch all organization for popular liberal things? I have no grasp on what this group is trying to accomplish. It's an Anti-privatization movement. What's disgusting is that it suggests that a "diversity of melanin" is less important than a "diversity of thought," but that may have been one of their facebook posts and not the op-ed. Ohio State's administration is basically privatizing our university (and cutting professor positions to keep enough revenue to do so) while surveys repeatedly show students and staff don't want our resources to leave OSU (for example, here's a survey released in march). They're even trying to shutdown our on campus power-plant just to get a cut of money from AEP. I dunno, maybe it's just me being annoyed with reactionaries.
