Ocelotte was taken from has parents by the Lothric Illuminati where he was raised to be a rootin' tootin' gay cowboy who makes sweet ricochet shots.

I figured that Ocelotte was just a human baby and that Oceiros went off his rocker later, became a dragon, then thinks he's always been one so his child has to be a dragon too. I'm probably pulling this bit out of my rear end but there is that lone man-serpent enemy that ambushes you in the room right after. Maybe that was supposed to be Ocelotte?

So, um. I can no longer equip a shield. Or any left-hand item, on one specific character. (Given that this character is the one on which I was working on All Rings, I'm a bit loving annoyed.) Edit: well, technically I can equip it, and maybe the Grass Crest bonus would show up, but my left hand is empty.

The worst submarine posted:Is it true that weapon reinforcement is tied to invading/co-op matching somehow? Yes, you can only match to the upgrade level of your highest upgraded weapon +/-2. The range extends to +/-3 for +5 and above. Upgrades with Twinkling or Scales count double. So if you have Hollowslayer Greatsword +2 it counts as +4 since it upgrades with Scales, and if that is the highest you have you can match with +2 to +6. Or if your highest weapon is +6 you can match with +4 to +9.

dromer posted:Did they ever explain what the king in Majula brought back from the Land of Giants in DS2? Vendrick brought back the Giants themselves as slaves and research subjects for Aldia. I forget which soul explicitly mentions it, but there is definitely one that says "brought back Giants clapped in irons". This is why the Giants refused to forgive him and waged a war lasting decades to conquer Drangleic - to free their captured family. The Kingdom was trashed pretty thoroughly, but right when the Giant Lord was poised to crush the seaside fortress and make headway inland, the Bearer of the Curse appeared from the Ashen Mist Heart and stopped him. Vendrick simply fled, customarily unable to deal with the consequences of his actions, leaving Nashandra to watch over what was left of their lands.

It took 2 more Knight Crossbows, another helm, and another ember, but I finally got the sword. On the plus side, I can now parry the poo poo out of Lothric Knights. With the sword. After 3 DS games I still can't parry a spear worth a drat.

That's been my interpretation too since Nashandra pushed him into doing it and that's like the one thing she's been after all game. Needing the giant's kinship to access it, and its adorable human seat ad hoc carved in, seals it for me (not saying Vendrick didn't enslave a whole bunch of giants too).

Gimmick run: pop a finger the moment you got high wall, have finger on 100% of the time you're embered. If you lose your ember, white soapstone until you get it back. if you miss your first phantom attempt to get your ember back, place another soapstone wherever you are on the zone and see how long it takes to get summoned. No summoning white phantoms, only purples. There is PvP loving everywhere and I'm loving it. by the time you get to the boss you've either fingered a few times, or you've been summoned a few times.

Its perplexing when you run into someone that is obviously hacking but not actually unkillable. Saw an invader in undead settlement using the black knight greatsword that could swing it 5 times in a row without running out of stamina. Obviously not legit, but he wasn't hacking his health so if I hadn't erroneously assumed he couldn't swing that thing 5 times I could of killed him. VVV He's just moving so fast the human eye can't keep up with him Internet Kraken fucked around with this message at 07:01 on May 5, 2016 |

For me the big reason is that this is pretty much the plot of the Dark Souls 1 DLC: you go back in time, you're the one who rescues Dusk, and Elizabeth basically says "hey it has to be Artorias in the history books". It seems odd to me that you can retrieve the Giants' Kinship - the whole reason you're sent on this mission to start with - unless you're actually there to some degree.

This is why the last giant (who was the giant king before he was defeated) flips out when he sees you. I mean, other giants are hostile to you, but none of them rip out their own loving arms to try to kill you. That's a personal grudge.

The Exile GS is really good, it has massive base damage and dex scaling so gets up to ~550 AR sharp infused at 27/40, is one of the fastest large weapons, gets hyper frames when 2handed and the 2hand moveset is about the same speed as the 1hand and the weapon art is actually useful. I still prefer faster weapons but it's one of only a few big slow weapons that I consider worth using (Lothric Knight GS and BK Greataxe are the other two)
