Max vershitfuckstan has had way more bone headed moves then kyvat. My prediction is he does nothing and we forget about him in a couple years.

Wow I knew Red Bull were pieces of poo poo but I didn't think they would go this loving far.

I look forward to seeing shitcrappen binning it in turn one, taking out both Ferraris and then crying that he was brake checked by the dead ghost of Schumacher while Marko smiles and nods.

i would stake my entire non-existent reputation on formula e being little more than a tech demo for electric car technology that will eventually take over other, more important racing series. i give it five more years of existence at most.

Electric touring cars would be interesting.

Formula E is neat but yeah it really illustrates just how limited the electric technology is at the moment.

What they should've done is just say "you can do anything that was banned in F1 over the past 40 years" just to get the development ball rolling. Nobody in the current F-e field is going to come up with the next breakthrough in battery/electric car technology.

It's abrubt, but I think it's more about trying to retain Max long-term.

Kyvat is a fine racer, but so are Sainz and Ricciardo. Marketing-wise he's also probably the least marketable dude. If RBR can keep Max, he would be replacing Kyvat next year anyway.

If people haven't seen it, formula1.com has some good onboard footage that wasn't on the race feed. Gutierrez's shunt was probably the worst. He managed to rearend Perez(?) while everyone was tiptoeing into T2. He must have been looking in his mirrors and got caught out because they were coasting into the corner.

Getting around having to switch cars mid-race should be their #1 priority right now because that just plays into every lazy Jeremy Clarkson-grade burn about the limitations of electric power.

It can't be impossible (in my imagination anyway) to have some method to switch the battery rack out just like you'd change a tyre in a pitstop and that would make for a much better race feature than literally retiring the vehicle you started with and jumping into a spare.

It'd be super easy to have some sort of crazy machine that grabs a rack of batteries out of the back of the car then drops new ones in and they could say "look it's just like refueling guys!"

Instead we have two cars and they're running around on street tires.

I honestly think they should unban poo poo like ground effects and active suspension. Neither of those things would work with the current cars but it's painfully obvious that they're trying to adapt 40 years of rules for petrol engine open wheel cars when they should be going for a clean sheet design and letting people tinker around.

The power unit is primarily McLaren and the batteries are Williams, so I'd imagine eventually some of it will actually trickle up to F1 (assuming they stick with the hybrids for a while).
