One of the guys who won the mystery box did it with a mushroom stuffed with corn flakes. Also his sister is also in the competition and her dish was one of the worst. The other two were just dudes who couldn't get their poo poo together.

I don't know if you've watched the elimination challenge yet. I know you're like 12 hours ahead but then I have to wait for the episodes to be uploaded so who knows.

Thinking of running this setup to get mod practice in for my 24 player Stargate game.

quote:

5 player mafia game

3 Vanilla town
1 Regular scum
1 Godfather scum

No night phases.
After lynch D2 happens immediately.
If Godfather dies town win.

I had a similar thought. The only change I'd make is people can put as many words into posts as they have votes on them.

Speaking of balance,

Other than worst-case scenarios and analyses of how many targets a cop can clear certain stages of the game if kept alive, what else are common things you run through your setups to try and make sure things aren't totally broken? Wondering how everyone else does it

Would someone be up for reviewing a game setup? It's a role madness one with a few significant twists - I've never put one of these together, so it'd be useful to confirm that I'm not goofing up ratios.

I just do worst case scenarios and if I'm making up complex or nonstandard roles figure out an order of operations.

Statistics is bullshit because the only reason it is necessary is due to our own lack of information.

There is no "chance" that an event will occur*; the outcome is deterministic, depending on an absolutely enormous number of factors. Statistics only exists because we don't know what all those factors are. If we did, there would be no point in calculating probability.

* Outside of the quantum world

Obviously this is a very reductionist view of statistics but that is how I justify my utter contempt for it.

The chances of any event occurring are 50/50. Either it happens or it doesn't.

But that's what's great about it. Even without perfect information we can make educated guesses about our world. We don't have to worry about the absolutely enormous number of factors. If we did, we'd never be able to get anything done because we can't even comprehend the number of possibly (but unlikely) relevant things that we are missing.
