That tweet is just as effective as Trump posting a picture with him holding a bagel from Dunkin Donuts on Passover and saying "I love Jews!" No one he needs to convert s going to be swayed by this bullshit.
The suburban dads that said they would stay home rather than vote for trump place the utmost importance on utterly hollow acts of civility and poo poo-garbage imitations of mexican food. By July David Brooks will write a piece about how he misjudged Trump, and Maybe He Could Be Presidential. By mid-august Thomas Friedman will have a conversation with a cab driver who is voting for Trump and will come the nearest to making a decent metaphor he ever will in his career when he talks about Trump being a cinderella story.

The fact that doing that has been repeatedly confirmed illegal for the past 50 years? They can still teach that Reaganomics works or whatever but it's been made quite clear that excessively Christian stuff will be tossed out. You have a better chance of getting that in public schooling in Australia or the UK, as it turns out.

This is simply incorrect. In areas of the South explicitly Christian schools have been receiving State funding for some time, and religious freedom laws in addition to high-level support from various Republican operatives have prevented these schools from receiving serious state or media scrutiny.

These schools teach things far far more radical than simple Reaganomics, they teach things like how the Loch Ness Monster disproves the theory of evolution or how Apartheid was a good thing because if you let blacks vote then society will collapse. This has been going on for over four decades in some areas of the US.

Obligatory video for one of these programs. Please bear in mind that this is an advertisement, and when it compares children to livestock it does so as a feature, not a bug. This particular program is designed based on the operant conditioning Theory of BF Skinner, and is explicitly designed to create obedient students who are highly motivated to become involved in political work.

Moralists don't really *have* beliefs. Sometimes they stumble on one, like on a child's toy left on the carpet. The toy must be put away immediately. And the child reprimanded.

It's actually quite sad to read, since most of the quotes in the article are from Muslims who have desperately been trying to get the GOP to pay attention to them for decades, to no avail.
So this is basically saying that Muslims have lovely regressive views on heaps of stuff, but it's done in a sympathetic light, as in the GOP is ignoring them even though they want to ban abortion and birth control and gay marriage and have prayer in schools and generally restrict civil liberties just like Republicans :ohdear:

It's interesting you can say Muslims are a natural fit for the GOP without setting off the (usually) highly-tuned liberal outrage sensors, as long as you don't infer what that might say about American Muslims.

Two possibilities here.

1. Trump has no idea how voting works at all

2. He really doesn't want to be president and is sabotaging his chances of getting over 1237.

It's just a way to brag about the fact that everyone else has dropped out and formally pivot towards the general election.

In this case the toughest thing would be to make infertility the default for people, assuming there wasn't just whole swathes of the country thumbing the scale when it came to the demographic breakdown of successful applicants versus denied applicants.

Which is why I suggest having everyone spend a week in bootcamp at 18. They get first aid and firearms training, a recruitment pitch, and males get a vas deferens valve. Interracial couples should get the highest priority so racial phenotypes can be blurred. But sadly this is anathema to billions of 'selfish genes'.

It's a thing for other socially conservative minority groups as well, like African-Americans and Hispanics. On a social values basis, and even economic values, many of these groups naturally align with the GOP - and American Muslims were an extremely reliable GOP voting bloc in the recent past. But the GOP is so racist and hostile to non-[conservative American Evangelical] Christian religion that many of these groups end up in the Democratic camp by default.
