anyone else have an ergodox? i know theyre loving weird but assdrop has the ergodox infinity again and i really enjoy mine. the new version apparently does full usb3, instead of just using the extra wires as random serial lines, and the various annoyances with the first one (usb port detaching if you use it like a literal caveman, the usb3 cable they provided being straight toilets) seem to be fixed this time around i built mine with browns so that i can use it at work instead of my blackbird tenkeyless with blues i regret nothing

I'd love one just for being a funky keyboard, but that MSRP of them is giving me a lot of doubts. If they're $500 good, what about the cheaper options? Would it be worth jumping on an Ergodox, or maybe waiting for an Ultimate hacking keyboard or keyboardio, or just sticking with a regular layout mechanical?
