Our blinds installer just had a step on his ladder snap off while installing our blinds. Thankfully he was uninjured, and our bucket of broken glass, rusty nails, and oily rags was off to the side.

Look closer.  The bars on the left and right can be unhooked from the ticker part and the thinner part be swung up. That's why the thicker part is extended upward, to support the thinner part.  The ladder on the previous page does not have *that* bar, but it probably has a bigger one out of sight at the bottom.

Actually, if you look closely, I think it DOES have that bar and peg The bar is, of course, not engaged and is swiveled in its storage position parallel with the rest of the ladder (peg on the left slightly above the rung indent/hole, bar on the right)

Honsestly it was better than it could have been, I was exppecting to fling out a tooth or mess up her jaw, or grab traction and quickly run up or down to slam into her nose/neck depending on which way it was spinning I guess the hair's worse than the last two, but the point remains that she got off easy
