^^^ GEE WHAT COULD GO WRONG You know, I can accept another Bush presidency, even if I completely disagree with his policies and his way of calling up the French in the middle of the night to talk about Gog and Magog. But a Trump presidency is disturbing on an existential level and would kind of be the final proof that our democracy is fundamentally broken in some way.

By the way, none of the people steering NC onto the Idiot Rocks are actually from NC. They're there to gently caress poo poo up so that they can declare their conservative street cred in some later race in some other state, and they don't give a drat if they leave a smoking crater where the most progressive state in the south used to be.

EwokEntourage posted:Detention hearing have weird rules when it comes to what testimony is admitted and considered. I dunno how that state works, but defending on who and how the different stories came into play, judge might not have been able to keep it out. Plus the guy burned the bodies specifically because he was afraid to go to prison for killing them. You don't give someone bail when part of the crime is that they willingly and knowingly tried to destroy all the evidence because they are afraid of being caught. That's a huge red flag for a flight risk and maybe the guy won't try to run but the judge is still crazy for not considering the guy to be a flight risk. CelestialScribe posted:Arzying aside, the general is going to be a lot closer than most people in this thread assume. Yes crazy person I agree it's not likely to be Clinton blowing him away by 10 points as some seem to think but it'll take some serious magic on Trump's part, and/or fuckups on Clinton's, for her to not win and at least by 3-4 points. FlamingLiberal posted:I'm glad he got indicted, but I will still be shocked if he gets convicted of murder. He might not get convicted by the state but I imagine the DoJ has zero issue with nailing an rear end in a top hat cop to the wall since local politics mean nothing to them and they are (usually?) not as tight with the blue wall of silence poo poo. If he doesn't get and take a plea deal he's screwed. Feds rarely go after someone they don't have dead to rights.
