heres how you get a dog from the dog store

you go down there
you look at the dogs in the metal cages (hopefully the dogs are not being hosed down at this juncture) and pick the one you want
you give the dog store people like thirty bucks so they can whet their beaks

congratulations, you are the proud owner of a brand new baby pup

also my arabic book from UK published in the early 90s described the letter "ع" as being pronounced like the -gg- in "Maggie" but keeping the tongue from making contact with the palate, does that mean i have to pronounce it dripping with contempt like a brit would say maggie at that time

it's amazing to me that people do this, especially when it's so easy to just scroll to the bottom of an article, where you'll usually find a bunch of plausible citations.

yeah, built in keyboard layout. my first arabic teacher recommended the saudi layout, so i learned to touchtype that one and it's almost the same as the one on my phone so whatever, too lazy to look up if there's any better ones

i don't think i'm pronouncing maggie right because i can't figure out how you would go from the sound i'm hearing in my head to this. i guess, to approximate, Ú is most like how you pronounce the digraph <gh> but pull the tongue root further down as you're saying it
