Durham show was pretty great. PFT did Mike the Janitor and Lauren did a variation on one of her early characters, the college girl who just returned from a semester abroad in Italy. Also, when Neil Campbell was doing his opening act he had a bit that involved asking for a one word suggestion from the audience. Someone had the gall to yell out "TIMEKEEPER." C'mon, dude. Let the man get there himself.

Also in the later CBB episodes he's been starting having conversations with Engineer Brett in a HH-style loving around with the copy. Not as good as HH, but I'm stuck on the treadmill and can't skip easily it's not bad. I've never minded ads. Maybe it's Catholic guilt but I also don't mind paying for Howl even if most of the stuff I listen to is on the free feed. I listen to stuff on it for at least 6 hours a week, it makes me work day go by more easily, and I want people to keep doing it. He did the same for DC but started by saying he is from here so it was extra silly when his facts were ridiculous. Also that transition to Timekeeper was genius. The suggestion he got here was "space".

I'm listening to it now too, and while I think it's the weakest of the live episodes so far (except for the hilarious burn on Scott around an hour in), this tour in general is really good. I was feeling kind of burned out on CBB lately, and haven't always been a fan of its live shows, but the sound quality on live recordings is MUCH better than it used to be, and the energy of the crowd seems to really be bringing out the best in the PFT and (especially) Lauren. Listening to all of these might make me even more burned out on the regular show when I get back to it, but I'm enjoying the hell out of this.

I've been an on-and-off listener from around he start of 2013, so I wanted to start back at the beginning and catch all the great moments I've missed. I've just finished the 2nd episode and it's amazing how different the show was at the beginning. At what point does the show start to metamorphasize into the show it became, and/or how long before people start to show up as characters and not themselves?

It it does come in and out. PFT starts calling in in-character, or someone will be a weirdo in studio, but most of the time it's just comedians shooting the poo poo, doing bits for an hour, broken up by comedy music. It's right around the middle of the 20s does it start taking shape. Cyber Thug takeover, Jon Daly doing BCB, some great Adomian introduction happen there. http://www.earwolf.com/episode/yerr-an-egghead/ rare Howard appearance. Then around 50 or so the characters are the main gimmick of the show. And then I'd say around 100 or so it starts falling in to the show you know, little more "professional", Scott starts actually interviewing people. I guess that kinda corresponds with the timeline of when it stopped being a live radio show.

The Atlanta show was pretty great. Lauren dos Ho-Ho, PFT was a new CBB character the Contraptionaire (a character from I think the second Spontaneanation?) and the special guest was Drew Tarver who killed it as a soul singer who's name I did not catch.

I'm pretty sure I heard Neil Campbell mention in an episode that he did a tickling video or considered being in one when he was younger. Anyone remember that? Well, there's a documentary about that whole racket and it seems pretty hosed up. http://youtu.be/iOBXuCYB4jQ

I just wish the app was better. I saw it had a playlist function so I put a bunch on for a long motorcycle ride but it stops after every episode which defeats the purpose of a playlist. Speaking of, anyone know of an iOS app that WILL make a playlist and play through it uninterrupted?

Pocketcasts is still the gold standard, as far as I know. It definitely has a seamless playlist feature. A few bucks, but extremely worth it. I've been thinking about picking Howl back up after that unofficial premium feeds thing was posted. The app is terrible, but between the CBB tour, the new Superego live, and the other things that pop up here and there I could see myself doing another month or two. Speaking of, has anyone listened to that Weird Al/Ken Jennings thing that just started? Seemed like it could be interesting.
