speaking of PT and poo poo, I finally hit my goal to get under 150lbs. It required no PT which was nice. 175 down to 155 was easy, the last 5 pounds was the hardest

Mustang did you go to RSLC? Probably not really practical unless you go to a RSTA squadron but it's a good career bullet point. Also buckle up for ranger school!!!!!!!!!! because everyone is gonna be extremely gay towards you until you do it

Nah I didn't go to RSLC, just ARC. I am in a RSTA squadron though. ARC was the priority and everyone that didn't get ARC got sent to RSLC. I liked ARC a lot, best month and a half of training I've yet to have in the Army. Biggest difference I noticed between the 2 courses is that RSLC is all dismount and surveillance focused whereas ARC tries to cover every aspect of reconnaissance. Arc was more like 50/50 dismount/mounted when I went through. I was told that once I'm a PL to try to send high speed specialists and sergeants to RSLC and SSG's to ARC. Seeing a majority of people that go to Ranger School get cut on push ups killed my interest in the course, considering they spent $1k+ on the packing list just to get cut within hours. I have yet to meet anyone that has finished A/IBOLC that can't complete a Ranger PT test to standard yet they still get cut in droves for push ups. The course starts with way more people than they can actually send through the course, which is loving stupid. If I had stayed at Benning for Ranger School I would have gone to the April class. ABOLC sent nearly 50 dudes to that class, less than 10 made it past the PT test. The cadre actually apologized to them afterwards for the brutal amount of people they had to cut for that class. I'm in a stryker BDE and not something like the 82nd so I don't think they have such a huge boner for Ranger tabs here.

I got cut on landnav due to spraining my ankle on the five mile run, and powering through it to walk a few miles in the woods and gently caress it up even further. It gives out randomly every now and again, and probably will for the rest of my life (ranger school was 6 years ago now). Thanks, ranger school!

The engineer corps doesn't send officers to sapper right out of BOLC. It usually wants them to have actual experience first. Thus, everyone goes to rrrrrranger school instead.
