Sorry for not being clear before. I am talking in the frame of the similar type of activity. For example, If I were to look at a Wormhole PVP corp, they all pretty much say the same things, the only real difference I see is what time they are most active. I am also noticing similar things in FW corps (Minus the faction they represent) as well as Null corps (separating sov and non-sov null of course). I guess what I am really having trouble with is figuring out if I would fit into a group culturally or not. I don't want to waste people's time if I can figure out if I would be a fit or not before joining.

As far as what activity I am looking for, I want to get more into PVP things. I spent too much time doing PVE things and as a direct result. I am absolute garbage at PVP. Beyond that, I am not married to any other particular details. Every type of space presents a unique set of dangers and challenges that I can enjoy.

When they all left I tried to do a few things before quitting myself but never really got to make friends with people in game. So in that respect. I do not really have folks who I know well to get opinions from because I am unable to ground those opinions with anything.

Character flipping is much less of a thing now -- they added a feature where you can extract SP out of a character's head, reverting their skills to an untrained state, in order to produce an "skill injector" that gives a pilot slightly less unallocated SP. These injectors are sellable on the market. This has removed a lot of the demand for the Character Bazaar, because you can now directly trade ISK for SP at a rapid rate.

It's produced some really weird perversions too, such as one-day-old pilots in JFs, or a very rich person deciding to gently caress with the Eveboard leaderboards by spending 1.7 trillion isk on injectors to create a 500M SP character with every skill at 5, just because they can.

I've been recommending this to the thread for the better part of two weeks. I've been running a group over in Horde called ISBAD to teach newbeans who have hit the T2 cruiser skill range to play this style of play properly. Drop the neuts though, we fit them like this because the ratters have a huge explosive resistance hole. You can drop most ships within 30-45 seconds with this fit. Neuts are only worthwhile for endurance fights, you're looking to get in and out quickly.

I'm glad it exists again. When I quit back in 2011 the only ratters in space you would come across were bots so blackops camps were utterly pointless.

Fun fact: contrary to everything I ever believed in, running missions in hisec has proven to be a passable excuse to log in to eve when I only have like 30 mins to play. It's no AFK ratting, but for now it'll do.

Supercap proliferation is crazy high, but you don't tend to see supercap v. supercap fights because in lamost any given war everyone knows who will win a supercap throwdown and losing a supercap throwdown is hideously expensive. Once committed, the supers are there till downtime or they die.

B-R only happened because PL/NC didn't realize they'd lost numerical superiority so they were willing to engag. Right now, they have numerical superiority so nobody's interested in putting supercaps on the field against them.

In the past, since you could logout with aggression and disappear in 15m, people would be willing to risk a supercap brawl and just log out if things were going south. Now, that's impossible so those battles are much rarer.

If you get shot in that 15 minute logout period, it resets. Doesn't make much of a practical difference for subcaps because there weren't a lot of times you were going to have that elapse if someone was trying to kill you, but it means 'log out and bet that the enemies can't chew through everyone in 15 minutes with a dying server' is no longer a viable supercap saving strategy.

Yes, if you get reaggressed while logged off at any point during your 15m timer, it resets. They had to introduce this because during the tracking/max HP titan era (Tribute war I think?), any time NC./PL's titans where at any sort of risk they'd just log, and we wouldn't be able to chew through literally an entire POS's level of HP before they disappeared.

Each successive act of aggression restarts the 15min timer. CCP got sick of people just logging off Titans to avoid fights. Supercap brawls stopped happening because you'll be stuck until downtime. Them being expensive isn't the reason they don't happen, we'd drop Dreadnoughts on each other back in 2006 when they were stupidly expensive relative to the size of an average player's income. They just changed a bunch of mechanics related to Capitals and Supers that may make a fight more likely since they've become more glass cannon than before.

The game has taken a weird twist. There are more people in nullsec than ever before but active player count is down. There has been a shift from one person with 12 alts to 8 players, most of which are newbies. A lot of stupid poo poo being done by these new players who are beginning to strike out on their own. The sov map is actually beginning to look like the balkans since the old empires are getting zerged apart.

Drop the neuts and put projectile weapons in there to speed up kills. You're not going to get any use out of them. You need to be in and out of the engagement quickly and capping people out doesn't work towards that. The projectile weapons add like 200-300dps depending on skills.

That plus time dilation means that a supercap escalation has the potential to take forever. Time dilation slows down time to give servers the time to handle the load which means fights last 10x as long which has the compounding effect in allowing people to burn to the fight and dogpile in continuing the fight even more.

It also had a lot to do with a certain campaign commander not checkboxing properly AND keeping about 200 people out for 7 hours doing things of minimal importance all across Dronelandia before the battle had happened (most of which said "gently caress it" and logged off).

~25b or roughly the cost of a single dread pilot on the character bazaar.

I did have some leftover injectors from my now super pilot, and from Xolve, who skullmined a bunch of skills for ships better flown on alts.

Also- My 6m SP dedicated probing alt was just over 6b.
