Unsurprisingly forumites are completely retarded. I haven't digested the changes to MAF just yet but vanilla CA is loving this and Onyx seems pretty bloody good with one big downside so far.

I think it's a little bit better in Onyx than vanilla thanks to the order efficiency of link teams. Because I can't take Aspects in Onyx I'm finding myself with a lot more points floating in my first lists and it's definitely easier to fit in. Still pricey in a pricey faction though! Plus I love the model and the base I've given him. I need to finish working on it though.

Has anyone tried a game with the new mobile army6 tool?

I'm playing tonight and going to give it a shot. It's pretty cool because it tracks your points, and order pool throughout the game - including AD/Hidden Deployment and stuff. You just press play and then scroll back and forth between your list and order pool while toggling happy and sad faces. :3

I don't think it'll ever replace actual order tokens, but I'll definitely be using it to track the state of my army and order pools. Seems pretty cool at first glance anyway!

Also yeah - Haqq is really drat powerful. 3/10 players at the last tournament I went to played them. Not sure what the breakdown of my local meta will be though. It seems to skew more towards Nomads, but I don't think I'll be the only Ariadna player this time.

And Onyx is making me consider buying some Aliens down the line. But I think my regular opponent may want to go that way, which is cool with me since I love the Tohaa too and they are pretty alien as well!

Hey all, I was introduced to infinity relatively recently and have building my force through a slow grow tournament. The next round is 250 points and I'm not sure whether I should use the 50 point increase to strengthen my 10 order list, or transition to two groups with more overall orders. I was playing around with 10 orders and came up with this. I would certainly appreciate some advice.

That depends - if you live in Ottawa I can't give you any advice because there is a good chance I'm in the same league. Although I've been a delinquent of late. I play Ariadna, so I would say branch out and have a second order pool because orders are king and it's totally awesome to nickel and dime your opponent to death. I would also say that the Oniwaban is my favourite Infinity model and so this might be shocking but I would replace him with a Hac Toa Hacker and just use him to win missions and everyone else support him. Again, if you're in Ottawa, disregard this.

In other news, I'm so disappointed with my grunts. All the achieved was getting murdered. I think the way to use them is to just have them as order generators for my foxtrots and airborne rangers. Of course the problem was probably all my fault, I shouldn't have been trying to win a fire fight against PanOceania. Lesson learned!

The highlight of the game revolved around my opponent charging his Father-Knight straight into my face. We enountered a situation that we weren't sure how to resolve. If I charge a camo token at someone, I am revealed for the whole order. But if my opponent moves in to base to base with my camo token...what happens? All the wiki examples are of an SAS moving into contact. Not of a camo token being contacted. We played it as him kicking a pile of trash and a foxtrot popping out and feebly attacking him with a butter knife. The F-K killed the Foxtrot no problem - but did get shot with an arrow from my Hardcase later. The F-K survived that and then got greedy. He jumped out a window and attacked my desperado - who was parked just outside the diner where all this action had gone down. The desperado is way better in CC than I thought with his healthy 18 and managed to smash a beer bottle over the F-Ks head. Killing him. Then ran over his neck with his bike, getting me my extreme prejudice classified objective.

This game is friggin insane when you play with your buddies and have some beers. So many awesome interactions in Beer-finity.

You can't move into base contact with a camo token. It is literally impossible according to the rules. You can move through a camo token, but you never enter contact with it (in rules terms).

Cool, thanks! I think it's kind of a weird case that shouldn't occur all that much but it's good to know for the future.

One other question that I haven't been able to resolve is if I have a model with Sixth Sense Level 2 and put her on suppressive fire - does she get three shots or one if my opponent shoots her from out of LoF (shoots her in the back)? I've been playing it as I only get one shot back, because she is turning around to shoot. Still really powerful, but not a total reaction bot with 360 visor.

The Black Jack and Unknown ranger have profiles now but no models. So once their models are released is that it for the American Sectorial, or are there more units planned for down the road? Will there be a Kazak Sectorial?

Rules as written.... You would get the choice of doing a supressive fire attack (using the supressive fire range band) or do a normal shot. You get to react to the attack by doing a BS attack and suppressive fire is a BS attack...

Thanks!
I'm going to get around to printing out the rules to have on hand one day. Flipping through on my phone during a game isn't ideal and sometimes the wiki doesn't have the specific interaction I'm looking for.

That seems really powerful because the model in question was a Kazak Veteran with T2 Rifle and X-Visor. So basically I can park her in suppression fire and if my opponent is silly enough to shoot her in the back she just blasts him for full burst and probably only -3 for cover.

I'm up for another afternoon of gaming today (funny how crap weather leads to lots of games). 200 point prep game of Emergency Transmission for a tournament at the end of the month. Using my USARF I have a lot of specialists, but still don't feel like I have enough. I'm also a little unsure of how much killing power I actually have, but playing the objectives is more important in a mission with so many ways to score points. I'm playing against Assassins whom as ya'll know just got some massive bumps. Historically I haven't performed so well against this opponent, but I've been playing a lot more over the last month than he has so hopefully the practice has done me some good.

E: Emergency Transmission is incredibly order intensive for the amount of specialists that you can field at 200 points. And since there are four different ways to score the main objective points and two classified points it's kind of overwhelming. I ended up going for mission objectives, but got destroyed by an assassin Fiday with boarding shotgun. I was in retreat turn two....but ended up winning by controlling one objective. So I won 2-0 but was in retreat for my turn two (I went second) and won as that was the last turn of the game. I didn't really feel like we played that right...

If a hacker has a nullifier, doesn't that mean his hacking device is useless unless he uses a support program (since its not an attack) and isn't within 8" of the target?

Or do I have to deploy the nullifier for it to have effect?

E: apparently, nullifiers need to be deployed to have effect. Do repeaters have to be deployed to work as well? What is the difference between a model being a repeater and a model carrying a repeater?

If they have the skill "Repeater" then its always on and you don't need to activate it. If they have the equipment "DEPLOYABLE REPEATER" then you have to take a short skill to deploy it it base to base. Your deployable repeater can be shot.

You can hack repeaters right? Even the repeaters that are listed as equipment/skill?

Ilor

What exactly do you mean by "hack repeaters?" Do you mean can you target them with hacking attacks? They are considered Comms Equipment, so they are vulnerable to the Blackout program. So yes, you could spend an order in your Active Turn to make a short order Hacking Attack against an enemy repeater anywhere in your hacking area. This would be a normal WIP roll (the repeater is inanimate and can't Reset on its own, so no FtF) which if successful would cause the repeater to pass a BTS roll vs Damage 15 or become disabled. I do believe the Firewall modifier would come into effect as well, as your target (an enemy repeater) has that special rule, so WIP -3, BTS +3. Just be aware that doing so exposes your hacker to ARO from every enemy hacker on the table, and since you're not opposing them, their AROs will also be normal rolls. I have a hard time envisioning a circumstance where this is a good idea, but it's certainly possible.

What you CAN'T do is hack an enemy repeater in your Reactive Turn. The repeater itself is never receiving an order, so it never generates an ARO. Any ARO you'll have will be to the hackers acting through it. But you could still use Blackout to disable the active Hacker's Hacking Device (which is also Comms Equipment), which is good clean fun - especially if your opponent doesn't have any Engineers.

What my opponent was doing was targeting my repeaters through his own repeater. I don't think I would get any ARO save for reset right? Even if there was a hacker right next to the Moran?

Scenario 1:

Enemy unit shoots Marker near my Moran unit
Enemy hacker (on other side of the board) then hacks through repeater and targets moran, does blackout
Moran declares ARO: Reset

Scenario 2:
Enemy unit shoots marker near my hacker unit
Enemy hacker (on other side of the board) hacks through repeater and targets hacker, does blackout
My Hacker can declare a hacking attack, will get modified by firewall rule though.
