Texas stepdad shot and killed 3-year-old for jumping on the bed: policequote:George Coty Wayman initially told police the boy was bouncing on the bed shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday and accidentally landed on the gun, causing it to fire, reported KFDX-TV.

The adults are socialist conspirators, and social engineering is a catch-all term for the commies corrupting the minds of children and young adults with "tolerance of sodomites and negroids" and things like that. Which is to say, I'm pretty sure Dan Patrick is saying that keeping the adult communist academics from imposing their agenda is a good thing. Social engineering is a real dirty phrase on the right.

The entire process of public education is totally about social engineering; always has been. I'm really disappointed in the TX Supreme Court ruling because now, there's zero incentive to do anything about public education. If anything, the decision will reinforce white flight into rich enclaves to create more Super High Schools like Allen. I can't even imagine what a hell hole a high school with 4,500+ students must be; what kind of experience is that for a young person? edit: specifically in regard to that Patrick tweet, i'm pretty sure it's directed at the Obama administration guidelines.

Good news, quality of teaching and levels of funding have no meaningful impact on educational outcomes so none of this actually matters, hail Satan, eat at Arby's.

I think the only reason Allen hasnt split into multiple schools is due to them being a power in football. I remember all of the Texas HS Football coaches being upset about Forney being split into two schools due to them being a football power in the early 2000s. blue squares posted:I went to Allen, and it's super awesome because no matter what kind of kid you are, there's another 50 like you. Nobody was friendless just because they were into weird stuff Parents still live in Allen in one of the older (circa 1980s lol) neighborhoods and I grew up there, so can remember when there was practically zilch west of 75 and one grocery store. I was in one of the first classes to attend the new high school. It was a very white environment back then, though (somewhat) seems less so now the few times I've driven by it. There were only a handful of non-white kids in this massive school. One of their neighbors is an ancient black woman who was the "help" for Margaret McDermott, who is still alive (I think) and lives in a ranch hidden in a swath of land that was never overtaken by development. Old Allen versus New Allen. Lady is amazing, ridiculous cook and moved to Allen in the 1960s. I couldn't believe it when she told me that. radical meme posted:The entire process of public education is totally about social engineering; always has been. If anything it was too orderly. Allen was notorious for its paranoid overreaction to the Columbine shooting. http://community.seattletimes.nwsource.com/archive/?date=19990518&slug=2961362 And made an appearance in Bowling for Columbine if I recall because of the expensive security systems they established (and then scrapped) in the early 2000s. Also funny story about those bomb threats: AISD assembled its students in auditoriums days after the Columbine shooting, and in a display of amazing paranoia and incompetence, threatened them with canceling classes for the rest of the year if they made bomb threats. Which the students proceeded to do using the school's own payphones. I only remember because I was in one of those auditoriums. They sacked the superintendent after that.

My school was around 3000 when I graduated (my graduating class was ~720 and the incoming classes were even bigger; they eventually built another high school) and it was ok. It kinda prepped me for A&M, where there are 50,000 undergrads and still growing.

It's a resolution that calls on the state's congressional delegation to introduce articles of impeachment in DC. State lawmakers pass these things all the time. It's basically a formal announcement that the OK state lege thinks Obama is bad. Or one house, if it's like here, resolutions can be passed by just one chamber and don't have to be signed into law. I mean, gently caress them, but it's not that big a deal.
