Is there an option to set that automatically removes failed downloads from the queue for Sabnzbd? I'm talking the usual encrypted rar stuff that gets hoovered up. The switch option has an abort flag but not a discard flag. Sonarr and Couchpotato can handle failed downloads. But the encrypted rar situation leaves it in stasis since the download is still pending.

Here's how mine gets used for example: Since March 21st (Looks like the stats got wiped when I upgraded SAB to 1.0) Astraweb EU: Total: 22.8 GB Today: 0 B This week: 2.3 GB This month: 2.3 GB Astraweb US: Total: 21.9 GB Today: 0 B This week: 1.6 GB This month: 1.6 GB Free XSUsenet: Total: 147 MB Today: 0 B This week: 8 MB This month: 8 MB Tweaknews.eu Total: 2.1 GB Today: 0 B This week: 5 MB This month: 5 MB Europe.TheCube Total: 6.4 GB Today: 0 B This week: 133 MB This month: 133 MB The last one has a bit more overall usage from when astraweb was down for a day and I made that one my primary, but the weekly usage is more representative I'm not surprised the monthly use of my backups is high at the moment as I've mostly been downloading a very popular chair based TV show, so takedowns are bound to be high. I did sit down and figure it all out once upon a time, but I think I've got all the top tier providers covered? It may be wrong now, I've not really looked in a while. UK goons - I'm seeing some odd behaviour on BT Infinity 2 (fibre product, 80 down/20 up), wondered if anyone else saw the same. In late evening hours, if I try and download from supernews at all, my connection latency goes sky high. (12ms up to 1500+). I get about 500KB/s download rate, and browsing on any other PC is massively impacted. I tried again just now, the latency goes up a little, but not too badly; the download rate is 5MB/s or so (the server's on the end of a Powerline router so I think this is top speed for that link). Everything else is still usable, as I'd expect on an 80mbit downstream product. I tried SSL/non SSL, different ports, fewer connections, same result. Downloading large files doesn't cause the same issue. The router (Asus DSL-AC68U) doesn't show any CPU spikes. BT are very very specific that their fibre products don't have any traffic shaping, but if this isn't symptomatic of a throttled connection I don't know what it is..

So this is anecdote but I'm only using blocknews as my sole provider right now and have been for 5-6 years now and I don't ever have any downloads fail that I can think of. But I only download things as they air so maybe that's before any takedowns can happen? e: thanks for the server/plex advice. I was thinking about renting a cheap dedicated server instead of building one of my own. I guess I could go either way though since it seems like dedicated servers are popular among people with seedboxes for their 24/7 uploading speeds and I don't plan on ever doing that. The only thing I'd worry about with hosting my own server is whether or not my ISP would care and I don't know how I'd feel about opening up my own home network to face the Internet. I mean I know the basics of securing a Linux server (block passworded ssh access, fail2ban, etc) but I'm not a network guy. If someone gets into my random offsite media server then no big deal, but if someone got into my home network then that's kind of a big deal. I was looking at the KS-3C server from kimsufi.com to experiment around with. It's a second generation i3 (2 cores, 3.4 GHz) with 8 GB RAM. Comes out to about 20€/month after taxes. That should be way more than enough computing power right? I'm also taking suggestions for something cheaper but I haven't found anything cheaper that's not running some kind of lovely Atom. My CouchPotato set up doesn't seem to automatically search for movies in my wanted list. Typically I go in every couple of weeks and force a search manually and there are movies that have been uploaded a week earlier just not downloaded, am I missing a setting somewhere? EDIT: Also renaming files wasn't working, but looking through the setting it looks like this was because 'black hole' was enabled, presumably this should now work if I've turned this off? So I've set up an nginx server to act as a reverse proxy to my usenet services, using a let's encrypt ssl certificate and basic authentication to avoid going through vpn. My nginx and iptables setup is below. Going to https://mydomain.com/nzbget prompts me to authenticate with an account and then I have full access to nzbget. Going to https://mydomain.com/web (plex) serves up the plex media server page but tells me that it can't access my server. I already set up the plex media server so I don't think that's the problem. What do I need to do to get Plex Media Server to work behind my reverse nginx proxy? I don't want to open up port 32400 in my firewall because I want everything to go through my reverse proxy. It works for sonarr and nzbget so I don't see why it can't work for plex. code:

I reverse proxy a bunch of crap as well, but never really needed to bother proxying to Plex. What's your reasoning for avoiding the port forwarding/NAT, out of curiosity? Have you also had much experience doing this with Apache? I'm thinking about moving to Nginx for proxying, if it's easier. I never really had a high degree of success reverse proxying stuff via Apache, or it takes a ton of rewriting/effort to do it right.

No reason other than wanting to keep the most minimal amounts of ports open I guess. I have it set up so that going to https://mydomain.com/any_directory immediately prompts for a username and password and then in nzbget/sonarr/etc I have authentication disabled so I don't have to bother individually. I'd like the same setup with Plex as well though maybe it's not necessary? Plex is confusing to me because I've never used it much before but why does it have me logging in to a plex.tv server. I'm thinking maybe the basic http authentication I have setup is interfering with Plex somehow. I guess if the standard plex authentication/encryption is good enough then I can try disabling the http authentication I have setup, but I'll have to try that later. The nginx configuration snippet I posted above though is literally all I had to add to my nginx setting (in addition to following a let's encrypt tutorial I found on digital ocean's website). e: Alternatively is there an alternative to Plex that's worth a drat? Ok here we go, I did get Plex reverse proxied through nginx. It was a pain! The reason i did it is because all other ports except 80 are blocked through my work's proxy. I had to make a complete different URL to get plex working alongside the reset of my reverse proxies, and to be honest I can't really remember how or why it works. Anyway here's the relevent part of my nginx.conf. This has couchpotato/sonarr/nzbget/htpc-manager and plex all reverse-proxied through port 80, and a landing page on the root URL with links to the relevant sub-URLs. You'll notice that there are two different servers specified with different server-names, they both map to the same IP address. This is not secured over https as I couldn't figure out how to get the certificate to work. I hope i've anonymised this configuration enough code:
myhostname-plex.example.com and get my Plex server myhostname.example.com to get a standard index.html with a bunch of links to other services myhostname.example.com/cp to get to for example couch potato. Slash fucked around with this message at 16:21 on May 12, 2016 |

Did you have to set anything special from within the plex server settings? Like the custom port, or custom server mapping (under Settings -> Server -> Network)?

Tanbo posted:Not really sure how it works, was thinking it might just waste blocks by downloading the same thing, but does it only download the missing blocks if it finds them and it's needed? It won't download duplicate parts of a file. SAB and NZBGet are smart enough to see a part is downloading and move to the next one. You can make use of server priorities in your client of choice.

Is there a way to send bitcoin that doesn't involve setting up some wacky account and/or paying basically double for it?

Just logged into NZB.su for the first time since registering. Do you have to have a VIP account to be able to search within a category or is that just not a feature the site has? There is a category dropdown menu for search but it only has All or Misc.

I'm encountering a rather weird problem at the moment. I just flattened my server and set it up once again since the default mount point OVH had sucked. Sabnzbd downloads files successfully and unpacks them properly. Sonarr seems to be getting stuck in some kind of loop. It detects the file, and begins moving it to the proper show folder and I watch it tick upward until 99% then it disappears. Only for the process to repeat itself. It's mounted via NFS and I seem to have no problem rsyncing stuff back and forth.code:
