The sheer balls of Inafune to say that Legends 3 would make no money, leave Capcom, and offer his company's services to finish it on contract might make it the biggest case of trying to have their cake and eat it too that I've sern in awhile.

X4/X5 and 8 were the games that made lose interest in Mega Man the most. The monitor blipped when 9 came out but then... flatline.

Also there's some good indie Metroidvanias nowadays, like Ori, Momodora 4, Valdis Story and Apotheon.

As much as I like 2d action sidescrolling platformers and RPGs I wish less of them were metroidvania style. I think that's part of the reason why I like Faxanadu so much.
