The logical consequence of theorizing about ingroup/outgroup dynamics is that they are bad. How "rational" of LessWrongers to openly embrace tribalism.

Ughhhhhh. 1) linguistics does not work that way 2) exolinguistics is a meaningless term that was made up by Star Trek 3) the right word for what Star Trek meant is xenolinguistics 4) it means the study of alien language, not some sort of unclassifiable magic word cloud, so they're even using the made up Star Trek word wrong 5) Anarcho-fascist is an intentional contradiction in terms, not a clever ideological niche. It was invented to make racial separatism more palatable and the entire purpose of the ideology is to be obfuscatory and confusing. Besides that, believing two contradictory things does not make you clever or wise, it just makes you wrong. 6) having ideas that can't be understood using popular conceptions of politics does make you "politically untargetable" but not for the reason you think. It absolutely guarantees your present and future irrelevance: no one who matters will ever notice you, let alone talk about you. gently caress I hate these cards E: ugh it isn't even exolinguistics, it's "exosemantics", which isn't even a loving Star Trek word, it's just meaningless syllables. Come on, whatever you were going for there I guarantee that linguists already have a term for it. "outside meaning"? I dunno, maybe that sounds deep to the sort of dorks who call themselves the loving Dark Enlightenment. SolTerrasa has a new favorite as of 17:15 on May 25, 2016 |

Oh, the comments... quote:If I had to guess, I’d say that the filmmakers likely are hard-core neocon Likudniks who see Red as Netanyahu (or that Liebermann guy), and the premise of the film is, Israel should murder even more Palestinians and bomb even more Arab nations, to “defend” itself from people foolishly trying to stop the realization of Greater Israel and retain their homelands. quote:I never let my children see any childrens entertainment produced after 1980. But after reading the review on TRS of this movie I took my oldest son to see it, and we both loved it and laughed all the way through. It also provided and still provides a great opportunity to go back over the narrative and talk about how the protagonist was right all along to be sceptical et.c, and how he was met with stigma from the less imaginative and passified lot. Its a fantastic allegory how the pigs get the birds to be preoccupied with hollow entertainment while they literally rob the birds of their future and coming generations, blowing things up in the process. I think this is as alt right and effective as it gets. When it gets out on dvd I´m gonna make it a reoccuring event in my house for the light entertainment, and I´m even going to pay for it. quote:

Is it really so hard to make your own image of a scale with the male and female symbols on each side that he had to use something made by the "Caribbean Development Bank"? gently caress, you can even find plain black silhouette clip art with the scales already tipped just by a GIS for "scales." Then you can put the male symbol on the lower side and have the image actually illustrate your point.

And maybe photoshop out the chain in front of your male and female symbols, so they look as though they're actually sitting IN the scales, rather than floating awkwardly in front of them. Nah, no time for that! Gotta get back to making those great arguments like "Women evolved to run Etsy stores, not start small businesses."

The intellectual colossi that stride the world of neoreaction do not experience this "cognitive dissonance" that lesser men suffer from. The truly enlightened man knows that his axioms are true and that his logic is flawless; the contradictions apparent to the inferior mind are illusions, borne of exposure to hazardous ideologies that deny the existence of objective truth.

As Small Frozen Thing and I will attest, most of the edgy shitposters on early 4chan tended to grow up (regardless of whether teens or early-20s) and move onto less right-wing world views. Not all, of course, but there's a good showing of ex-4channers on the left wing.

I watched a friend go from a 4channer who used ironic racism (calling black people "eights", for 8-ball) in everyday conversations to a dude with a criminal justice degree talking about how the first mission of any police officer needs to be the rehabilitation of their image in minority and lower-class areas, largely through outreach and making sure at risk and first-time-offending youth have access to state and local support resources. While some grow old and hateful in the dregs of /pol/, others get better and turn out pretty cool.
