I just got the agent 76 stunt driver skin so guess I'll be using him a lot more. I was in a pubbie team and my friend popped the Reinhardt shield and everyone followed behind him and rained hell. We took the point in about 15 seconds or so. Quickest match I've played yet.

Haha, I just had this sick-rear end game in Hanamura, man. I decided to go Tracer and apologized in advance because my Tracer is rear end. Then me and a Genji teleport to their left flank, cap A in a minute, then we just overwhelm them on B and win in like 3min. It was amazing. I love this game sometimes. Also holy poo poo a lower mouse sensitivity makes a world of difference, I've always played games with the insanely high sensitivity I use for browsing and now I can AIM? and HIT PEOPLE? What is this world?

Anyone else who watched pro competitive OW the past two days, what did you think about new scoring system they used for the tourney? I think I liked it. I also wonder if the single hero rule on KOTH maps is going to become tournament standard.

I keep reading that Winston is a top choice character, but every time I try him I just can't get anything done with his poor range and damage. I leapt just short of a Widowmaker and she just assault rifle killed me from full health in a single clip. When I ult I just flail around uselessly and more often than not end up punting people to safety. How the hell do you make Winston work?

I got really high before playing and leapt around constantly, stopping long enough to drop a shield and fire my tesla cannon, then leaping out again. It was the first time he really clicked for me. Maybe playing Arcade Mode helped.

I think his main strength in comp games is that he is able to force his opponents into positions that are better for his team. He does just enough damage that people want to back away, and he can use that to funnel people towards a teammate. He isn't strong by himself, but he can give his team members a larger advantage. So, unless you are communicating with your team and know them and their patterns well, I don't think you'll be able to make the most of him.

I wish there was more of a visual indicator of flare up to mark where the sweet spot of Roadhog's secondary is. Like, make sparks pop, SOMETHING. I can blame bad hooks on my terrible aim and timing in general, but it's really hard to for me to learn where the secondary goes from "Meh" to "Sicknasty". Even if that does make it all the more satisfying if I fire a secondary at an Ejected Dva just right and watch her disintegrate. I like his style though. Even if you ignored the hook, he is quite straightforward and also is the tank with a giant shotgun/grenade launcher instead of just tickling people to death with a giant hammer. His health vanishes REAL FAST if you take for granted he's got 600, but at least in areas of the map where the distances are not just a big gently caress you to him entirely, even I can hold things off for quite a while. PS: Dear Baby Jesus. Why can defending Bastion's turn into a turret on top of out escort vehicle? Okay I'll just fly overhead to... Winston's strength in comp is that he does damage in a cone, meaning he fucks up other characters popular in comp (low HP, highly mobile heroes). He's exceptionally weak against the other tanks. His bubbles also provide a good "dividing wall" during initiation, where he can leap in and drop it, effectively cutting off the opposing team's sightlines for precious few seconds and letting your team walk forward. Obviously this requires some amount of coordination to really get going, and Winston himself doesn't invite people to gather around him like Reinhardt does. e: Which isn't to say he's awful without coordination, but I feel he falls off faster than the other tanks once you hit that "people are decent at DMing but are still solo/duo queueing so there isn't a lot of deliberate planning going on" level of matchmaking.

He's not someone who should just be coming from head on down the main choke like Reinhardt. Use his mobility to find an odd angle, leap into a high priority target or heavy encampment, drop your shield to protect yourself from ranged enemies, kill some squishies and leap back to safety.

^^PREEEETY sure i've been grabbed out of turret mode plenty of times before. I find Winston's long shield cooldown is annoying to work with. Like ok his weapon is auto-hit and longer-ranged than Reinhardt's crap and his leap gets him into nice positions for screwing up enemies, but Winston's big strengths bank so strongly around his shield and maneuvering around it. Otherwise he's basically a Reinhardt with less armor and less damage output. Because that's basically nothing unless you're the Terminator or Robocop for giving you some needed depth perception in a firefight. Compared to "Okay, that shot about where it expanded did basically nothing. And THAT shot about where it expanded took out the remaining 3/4 of their health" I've got going at the moment. Plus, it would give people fighting against Roadpig more of a heads up why their health is suddenly vanishing hard. Against otherwise seemingly Psychic Zarya's, I can put out a lot of hurt without them ever catching a single secondary with their bubble. Small sample size and all that, but that's the impression I get in that situation.
