I recently adopted a Sphynx kitten, Bagheera who is 4 months. He's been home with us for a little over a week now and we've noticed when in bed and cuddling he starts to suckle himself. No big deal when the cat has fur. But the little guy has nothing to protect him and he ends up breaking his skin, leaving openings. I worry about him getting an infection. We've tried to redirect him everytime he does it but he has absolutely NO interest, not even his baby blanket. He was with momma and siblings until a day after he was four months, so he wasn't weened early. I've tried cutting a sock to fit his little body but he absolutely loathes it. I'm still trying to find a suitable vet that has experience with the sphynx breed. He's getting neutered tomorrow at the ASPCA so I'm going to ask if they know any, but in the meantime I need some advice! Can you see the rage in his eyes? He hates me Also, hairless cat nuts before neutered... You know you were wondering..
