You failed America. Being TAD and basically without Navy supervision, I get my required live GMTs delivered through an email with a PowerPoint that teaches me not to rape or light myself on fire. That email gets replied to stating I will now cease lighting myself on fire while raping and then deleted. Total time wasted: 30 seconds Total training time at the live GMT for poor souls not on the skate plan : 6 hours
Two U.S. Navy Super Hornet fighter jets collided in mid-air off the coast of North Carolina, but the four airmen aboard escaped with only minor injuries, officials said Thursday. The two F/A-18F Super Hornets were downed in a mid-air collision Thursday morning and four airmen were recovered who seemed to be in good shape, Geoffrey Pagels, a search and rescue specialist with the U.S. Coast Guard District 5 Command Center, told NBC News. Three of the airmen sustained no injuries in the collision and one sustained a minor leg injury, Pagels said. Two of the men were recovered by a local fishing vessel and a third was taken in a life boat. The aircrew were transported by Coast Guard helicopter from Air Station Elizabeth City to a local hospital, Pagels said. The Navy said two Super Hornets assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 211 "were involved in an in-flight mishap" off the coast of Cape Hatteras in North Carolina around 10:40 a.m. ET Thursday during a routine training mission. "All aircrew have been recovered and are en route to medical facilities for evaluation," the Navy said in a statement. VFA-211 is based at Naval Air Station Oceana. A safety investigation will be carried out in order to determine the cause of the accident, the Navy said.
http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/two-navy-super-hornet-jets-collide-north-carolina-coast-n581001 Happy to hear they're alright. So my command decided not to release advancement results today, because they... didn't want to. I work nights, so I was expecting (hoping) for a call, but when I finally called someone, I was told, "maybe tomorrow." They've known since 11:30, and every time someone asked they said they would tell us later.

An E1-E3 is Junior Enlisted and a E7-E9 is a Senior NCO regardless if you call them chief, master chief whatever. So.im a chief. Thus a senior NCO

I've finally bit the bullet and decided to just read the whole goddamn corpsman manual instead of winging it on quizlet. But as an HN I have kind of come to terms that my career is gonna pretty much end at HM3, If I can even find the motivation to make it that far; Green side save my soul.

I generally don't read news site comments as a rule but I knew this one would be a goldmine of beautiful butthurt. "Whaa whaa my Navy is being destroyed by the PC police, gay pride, and white guilt!" I know I can't be the only one to notice a correlation between "Navy traditions backbone of the fleet!" and being a worthless gently caress who doesn't leave the mess or do any actual work (CPO365 does NOT count as doing actual work). Good Chiefs tend to be more concerned about actually doing their jobs and taking care of sailors and less about imaginary traditions. I think the best comment there was about how CPO initiation helps whip those fat lazy first classes into chief shape. Stultus Maximus fucked around with this message at 15:10 on May 27, 2016 |

There was no ego stroke on a sub quite like having an important piece of coner equipment break, being told by the cone chiefs to get lost only to have them send someone back aft to say they needed help to fix their own equipment beyond simply hanging tags.
