Uh, Widowmaker was a huge target of mockery when she was revealed though? Moreso when a weird glitch made her arse inflate every time she activated a special ability.

Also I think that one form of the argument against it was that the focus should maybe focus on more of the character than just their rear end? Granted, apparently people are buying games based on butt quality and literally nothing else so as soon as it got out that it was getting changed they cancled preorders.

The Tracer thing was a particular victory screen pose where she just stood there showing off her butt. Someone said it was bad and just sexualizing then blizzard agreed and took it down, which caused the gamergate/MRA types to freak the gently caress out. Like, a week or two later, it got replaced by a new pose, that's still a butt pose, though at least it's an old pin up girl one that used to be painted on ww2 planes and lines up better with the characters personality and history as a pilot instead of just "hi, I'm tracer, here's my butt"
