Am I wrong in thinking Lucio is pretty much mandatory in KOTH? If you use his speed boost at the start your team gets to the point way faster, and if you have setup heroes that super important even if the point is locked. Getting to the capture zone first just gives you such a big advantage.

This but for everything. Lucio is the best healer in the game and lots of people don't realize it because he doesn't play like medics they're used to. The team that bunches up around a Lucio is a team that stays alive.

I'm sure its weak compared to Mercy's focused healing but he pretty much keeps everyone alive in a huge radius. I'm not really sure how to use his ult effectively other than as a "gently caress you" button when the enemy ults.

I don't even really like playing him but I kind of feel obligated to when nobody else is picking a healer. I think I've only lost one game as him. He's just so good in my potato tier.

About 30 to 40% of my games are very, very close

Another significant chunk aren't close, but I could tell that the opposing team was skilled and with less nerdy play from our end we would have lost

The rest (about 20-30%) are stompy

Played against an actually good Junkrat just now and cried as he just shut down my whole team of Widowmaker, Widowmaker, Hanzo, Mercy, and Symmetra. I could reliably nail him with 76's helix launcher but once he realized where he was being shot from he'd bomb jump away and heal back to full. Never could kill him. :smith:

Think of it as an even stronger version of your boosted heal. It allows your squad to steamroll pretty much any large firefight. When your squad wants to make an all-out dive into an enemy-controlled point, Break It Down!

Lucio is really good, but if sometimes a pocket medic is needed for a strong push and Lucio really can't do that. He and Mercy are equally good at what they do, but they do veeeery different things.

(also in pubs keeping a team centered around lucio can be really hard on non-koth maps)

Mercy feels better when you're defending, and on payload offense imo. Often she can heal a tank enough to force them through a chokepoint alive, and her personal mobility is fantastic. Teams that manage to focus fire targets well have a harder time with Mercy than Lucio. Plus the damage buff is amazing, and on defense or escort missions you can't really utilize Lucio's speed boost as well.

On general offense or KOTH maps, Lucio is better, since you can push relentlessly with his speed and the healing is massive when you use his E on a point and everyone on your team is suddenly full health. Plus the ultimate really shuts down most defense attempts by giving everyone massive HP.

A quick google search landed me on this vintage picture of a Samurai archer. No idea if it's accurate or just photoshoped.

Also found some links to stuff about Kyudo, the Japanese martial art of archery. I'm guessing what Hanzo and what the man in the photo are both wearing is garb meant for like meditation and spiritual training. I specifically remember a scene in The Last Samurai where I think the head Samurai guy's son is practicing his archery and is wearing the same thing.

[edit] Since I found your observation interesting, I went and found this video too:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OA2EnemzBpk&t=80s

This is a bit off topic, but that's an actual photograph, not a photoshop. In the 1800's, Japanese photographers would hand paint their prints. http://publicdomainreview.org/collections/19th-century-hand-coloured-photos-of-japan/

Also, if a bow string slaps your arm after you release it, it hurts like HELL. You need something to cover your arm to prevent getting a friction burn from the string rubbing against it if you don't hold your bow just right. For some reason, Japanese archers are masochists or something, and leaving your arm exposed is supposed to be a sign of mastery.

Lucio can also spam chokes for headshots and at rein shields while also healing, whereas mercy has to amp to contribute damage and thus not heal. But lucio also builds meter slower than a very slow thing if he isn't doing damage so yuckers

I'll be damned if I can get that ultimate off though. It's pretty much insta-death any time I initiate it. It seems a well-played Junkrat is the hardest character for me to kill, with Hanzos that don't seem to need to aim a close second. Getting a kill on those guys feels satisfying.

I've found Tracer to be very good against them, since she can zip through open spaces quick enough and can cause a lot of damage very fast. Zarya is good in these situations, as is Reaper.

The circles fill in as you look at the target, based on their health. Higher health targets will take longer, and the damage is percentage based with the red skull being 100% of their health.

Yeah Junkrat eats any sniper/turret heavy team alive with zero risk to himself. He's also an extremely safe character for dueling/skermishing thanks to his traps unless you manage to burst him almost instantly. I saw a lot more of him today, I think people are figuring out that he's secretly one of the most consistently solid heroes in the game.

So is it even humanly possible to get 20 teleportation uses in one game? I can't even manage 8. If she was more useful attacking it would be one thing but her weapon has such limited uses and all you can hope to do is hope an enemy runs into one or two of your turrets damaging them, maybe 20 points. You simply wouldn't be able to do the damage necessary to even get the ultimate 4 times. Symmetra's kit has no real use outside of defense and she's the only hero who suffers from this.

It's like they ran out of ideas when they got to her and made her get one half of the TF2's engineer's kit but only as a limited use ultimate.

I have this achievement. Attacking on Temple of Anubis where I got it. Basically, your team has to suck enough that they won't take the point for 10 minutes, but not so lovely that they get overrun and your tele gets destroyed. Also, they have to know your tele even exists. The problem I've seen is that the entrance is just sort of off to the side and is a sky blue color so you can miss it easily.

Anyway, here's me Genji reflecting a Hiiiiiigh Noon back at Mcree. Thanks for watching.

The content difference between Battleborn and Overwatch is huge. Battleborn has so much more content to it and I believe that will help it last much longer and be more fun. In Battleborn you can upgrade everything including your character, in game upgrades, profile level, etc. and all of these upgrades come with cool new stuff that is almost PERFECTLY balanced. I went into multiple games as a lvl 1-3 without gear and still managed to crush people who were level 20-30 and at no times did I feel at a disadvantage. In addition all of these upgrades allow you to change the way you play constantly. Also content such as buildables/defenses, Merc camps, spider bot sentries, etc. really adds to the gameplay. Ill be holding off purchasing Overwatch until it is more reasonable priced for its amount of content. I was just fine paying $48 for Battleborn though(Amazon Prime ftw).
