Theta Zero posted:You generally hang back and pick a partner. You can hit people with the heal orb and orb of shame from so far away, and hanging back lets you take advantage of the fact that a majority of your health regens while circumventing that you have one of the lowest health caps. The orb of shame turns people into paper for your teammates to rip apart, and you're a walking glass cannon, so your purpose is to be support from afar. Playing like this lets you build up your ultimate very quickly and help with a lot of pushes. Your biggest threats are people who can flank you or shoot you from a distance like Widowmaker or Tracer, though. Ah, that might be the problem--I'd been thinking of Zenyatta as a healer and felt like I haven't been helpful at keeping my team alive. Thinking of him as offensive support might be a useful change of perspective.

I refuse to believe I'm the last one to know, so here's a little tip: You can steer Reinhardt's charge left and right with A and D. Learning about this made Reinhardt duty infinitely more fun. I might be providing my teammates slightly less shield but on the other hand I am providing the other team a lot more hammer in the face.

How are you supposed to handle Anubis' temple on the attack? If the enemy has a decent composition and build their poo poo near the first two entrances there's nothing I can do to penetrate that killzone.

Pharah/Genji/Widowmaker can use their mobility to take the high ground, and Reinhardt/Roadhog can draw focus from them. I've got a 64% win rate with Reinhardt, with a 14/43 K/D ratio. I like the wins, but MAH NUMBERZZZ

I like playing these games in a group because while I'm the grown man that gets audibly upset that my shootyman is dying, other people kinda make me both more restrained and less...tryhardy? Like, I'll play fuckin' Widowmaker because I know at least half my team is aware we'll lose and it's fine.

Opposing Farce posted:Does anybody have advice for getting better at Genji without being a burden to my team? He's a lot of fun and I like playing him but I'm pretty bad at it and even when I do okay I can tell I could be doing a lot better and would probably be contributing more if I picked a character I'm more comfortable with like Tracer or McCree. The specific thing I find holding me back is really his shurikens; I'm relatively decent with hitscan but I've always had trouble with projectiles and the shurikens in particular are a fairly unusual weapon I can't exactly practice with except by playing Genji. I know that at the end of the day it really is just a matter of playing a lot until I get better at it, but is there anything specific I can do to improve my aim or at least compensate for my bad aim so I don't have to feel so bad about being a bad? When weapons travel the way the shurikens do, and especially for genji who doesn't want to be in the poo poo, accuracy means less than just general placement. Same with dva's zero suit gun. Focus more on avoiding fire (ie running on walls like a nutcase) and just painting the area where baddies are with shurikens, some will miss just because the dudes move but its ok as long as you're still alive and able to toss more. Im on ps4 so I switched the jump button to L3 so I could aim and jump, I'd suggest everyone try that if you're on console and olaying anyone who jumos a lot. Plus you can set it per char.

Nothing's better than clutching out a game during overtime as Genji on attack. Goddamn. He really has the tools to do almost whatever he wants provided you don't get cornered or move out in the open. Killed the bastion with reflect, popped ult, sliced up three people, escaped and then got back in and sniped their Reinhardt from above with shurikens. Payload in. I think I just wanna become a total sperg at Genji now. Keep underestimating just how far his shift moves you, but it's amazing when people expect you to be unable to close the gap. Anime as hell.

If the enemy has a decent composition and build their poo poo near the first two entrances there's nothing I can do to penetrate that killzone. If you go to the left right at the arches, there is an alternate path. Once there, in the health pack room, some classes can exit out the windows at the very top. This lets you do a complete flank from behind. If someone on your team gets in the left way, people at the front have to turn to deal with them. Going to the right while they're split lets you pincher the point as well. Usually once you get anyone into the back by the point you should be able to break it soon after, because pulling people away from the choke to deal with the single guy means they can't hold your team out. Point B is harder, mainly you need to group and push as a team, preferably have some decent team ults.
