The problem with switching to Winston to counter Widow is she tends to stay up high so you have to use your leap to get to her. Then she drops down and you have to follow to do any damage, then she grapples up again so you're no closer to killing her. Your leap will be off cooldown soon but at this point you are probably poisoned, are behind most of the enemy team who are now shooting at you, and and are playing a dumb ape instead of a cool character with guns or sword's

I ran into a situation in quick play and I'd like advice. On Hanamura Attack, how do you deal with three Torbjorns? We couldn't get through and I'd like to know what the options are. Junkrat? Pharah didn't work because of positioning of the turrets and Bastion melted Reinhardt's shield too fast for anyone to get through safely.

If you can't keep Rein's shield up for more than a second or two you might have to get two Reinhardts. Good luck! If you can't get any teamwork because you're in solo, peek quickly around the corner with Hanzo or Widowmaker, turrets go down in 3 or so quick shots. Junkrat's ok if you can figure out the angles. I keep running into different all-tracer teams its slightly annoying at the start when you don't expect 3 tracers zipping around on point A in 5 seconds of spawns opening, but after that they always just get stomped and can't even cap A

If you get a push through any set defenses it'll drop fast. Hanamura B is a lot harder, agreed, but it has more entry points that are easier to use.

I've actually seen double Winston only once in my games so far. My main issue here is not losing games, but rarely having fun either way when I'm playing alone (which isn't often thanks god). The double Winston I see quite a bit in certain maps/points, but it's mainly Mcree/Reinhardt/Mercy everwhere, the reason being winning in Overwatch is pretty hard when you're missing those heroes. Oh and obviously constant Lucio on the koth maps. It's glaringly obvious when you're facing a 4-6 stack and you're just 6 separate dudes trying to play well and barely communicating. Or the opposite. This isn't a MOBA, as long as you can shoot straight the game can definitely be fun in solo provided the matchmaking is fair.

I do feel that the matchmaker should at least try to lobby groups with groups. Then again that's probably hard since I know my friends have a pavlovian response to leave between games whenever one of them gets a loot box, and I doubt they're the only one. Also, holy hell, I was immediately turned off by Shotgun Wizard but now that I've played him he's so very fun. Now that I have a skin for him that lets me dual-wield dino-shotguns I'm starting to love him. It feels good when your team does a semi-coordinated push and you jump out from the sidelines screaming "DIE! DIE! DIE!" to get four kills on the point. Tobby s growing on me too. Set up the turret, doesn't have to be a perfect place just where it covers the objective/an important line, upgrade it if you have time, run forward with rivet/shotgun and collect scrap to throw at your team.

I don't usually play against/with people that are much better/worse than me skill wise, it's just that sometimes you get the premades and boy you absolutely don't improve or learn anything getting stomped/stomping randoms with your team. Granted, solo queue improvement would be limited in OW even if solo matchmaking was there, but at least you could still get mechanically better at the heroes you play the times your friends aren't online. You can try setting up little murderclusters of turrets near healthpacks and chokepoints, but that generally only lasts one or two kills before someone with explosives becomes aware of them. Instead, you want to put turrets around the point of conflict between the two teams, where the enemy will be too busy engaging your teammates to knock down your turrets. These are places like just inside the gate at Hanamura A, on the descending side of the platforms at the start of Gibraltar, on the friendly sides of corners in Dorado, and on the inside of all the KotH points. Don't cluster them, but put them close enough that two or three are going to lay into someone the moment they come into view. Don't rely solely on turrets, though. Your gun is stupid powerful but also a total pain in the rear end to use, because you have to be incredibly close to hit. You'll either want to hang around the fringes of your team and try to flank from the open, or go off on your own down side paths and try to ambush people. If you stick with the team, try to attach your beam to someone easy to keep it on (that hopefully isn't paying attention to you), and once it's spun up to full power try to mow down the enemy team with it. If you go off on your own, lay down turrets behind you periodically, then when you jump someone or get jumped, try to lure them back. Symmetra won't last long enough in most 1v1s for her beam to work but if you play smart you can get the turrets to help you melt people in a hurry. Hanging back and babysitting turrets won't get you your ult in a useful time frame, so learn who you can engage when to get some kills. You can try spamming alt-fire orbs at the enemy team but you likely won't kill or even wound anyone who isn't blind. Some Reinhardts still don't realize her attacks go through shields though, so you can always try lobbing full charges at them and see what happens. And don't forget to mash E on your teammates every time you see them.
