Just had a Escort match as Zarya where I saw a perfect opportunity to fire off her ult. Hit it, drew in 4 players just as our Bastion and Phara unloaded on them. Massacred over half the team in like a second. Zarya is stronk.

Shielding other people is kind of frustrating as Zarya because people tend to move so erratically and love to duck behind a wall when you're trying to save their life in exchange for precious charge points. It also sucks when you are desperately mashing E at a distant ally to apply the barrier as soon as you're in range and then someone waddles in front of you and gets shielded 50 meters away from the fight.

You can't exactly tell someone to hold still while they're in the middle of a firefight, which is the ideal time to apply a shield

I just throw a shield on whoever is under the most fire at the moment. Saves them, and feeds me. So far that's been the key to success for me with Zarya, just be shieldin' 24/7.

Zarya gets fun when you stop trying to protect your teammates and instead focus on profiting from their deaths. Just keep LOS on whichever idiot on your team is most suicidal, and boom, 50 free charge every time they try and charge that Bastion.

I didn't really like Zarya in the open beta and avoided her a while after the release, but now I think I understand how to play her. I got the "Attract 5 enemies" achievement yesterday, and I got a PotG with her today. I'm kinda playing her like she has no fear, and when my barriers are off of cooldown and a teammate is going in, I play aggressively and force the enemy to attack me, at which point I pop my barrier and eat them alive. She's got just enough toughness to make her hard to kill. Sometimes I end up overextending, but even that can be useful a bit as the enemy still gets pushed back.

Does this game have any sort of P2P or maybe it picks a server based on where the "average" location of players are? I've had a couple of games with unplayable lag (everyone zips everywhere, sound queues are going mad) and they've all involved Russians

Was just in a group with a Mei that got a PotG with her ultimate. Whats unique in this case is that she killed the enemy not once, but twice over the course of the ultimate. After they all died once the mercy flies in and uses her ult, they immediately freeze over and mei picks them off again.

I get gold objective time but I often have to step away from the cart for a moment to secure a kill, dodge an ult or whatever else comes with the general population being too drat dunderheaded to stand behind a big glowing rectangle. (Or I die for the same reason.)

As Lucio's gun is really bad for killing anyone except by accident (great for suppression fire/adding damage to the mix but not actually killing) there was no real reason for me to leave as the team ran off, hunted someone down, then came back for double healing. Just stuck my Luci-O's spray on the front and danced on top of the payload. Honestly, Lucio's probably one of the best to get it on simply because he can stay and protect the payload. He's basically a TF2 scout with a buf-aura anyways, no reason he shouldn't be pushing the point.

How do you beat the Bastion Torb Widow Reinhart combo on hanamura. You physcially can't flank on that map, it's so garbage.

After that, just anything that will help you beat them when they split. (I suggest a couple soldier 76, and a lucio with ult ready)

I think I figured it out.. since no one's awake in my time zone it's probably grouping me with people ~elsewhere~ and that's why my ping is so outrageous.  Let me tell you, 200+ ping is not the easiest time to try practicing Zenyatta.
