A lot of Mexican/Tex Mex stuff is AFP on paper and delicious when you actually try it. Case in point: Elote. Corn, mayo, cheese, and chili powder seems revolting but damned if it isn't fantastically tasty.

Hi AFP thread, I just had a late lunch. It was overcooked scrambled eggs with fried cut-up hotdog, pasteurized processed cheese food product, pickled jalapeno slices, and a moderate application of tomato catsup.Convexed posted:My friend informed me yesterday that he'd made a spaghetti bolognese omelette. If you have any golden chicken curry leftovers I highly recommend putting it in an omelette because it is amazing. Wow, you found a portal back to my college days. I didn't mix them together back then though. I'd eat the noodles then pour the powder mashed potatoes in with the broth after I was done. Was pretty good, but I'm pretty sure it was literally killing me.

I'm watching Masterchef Australia and a chef served a dish on a little shelf and in a drawer. He was an expert chef that the contestants were supposed to emulate.

We're growing cilantro this year specifically for esquites. Ugh, I really want some esquites now. edit: This is the recipe. Hirayuki has a new favorite as of 02:58 on Jun 4, 2016 |

Weirdly enough, down where I am (Houston) I've never come across actual Elote on a cob, every time I've had it has technically been esquites. Dude, go to a Fiesta market, any loving Fiesta, and find the guy outside roasting corn. He'll hand you a husk-still-on cob and you do all the delicious mayo and cheese work yourself. Buy some tamarindo from the stall with all the juice to go with it. Where are you going that they don't do elotes right? Wrong thread though, that's just porn.
