surebet posted:jesus loving christ how hard is it to run a power cable the point i mean the "point" """"point"""" is that it doesn't need to have a power cable constantly plugged into something, looking ugly, because it just drops that pseudopod down to the electric socket whenever it needs to recharge and then schlorps it up inside when it's done feeding. admittedly it's a unique way of charging a device that i had never considered before. it's stupid, but it's unorthodox and clearly took some thinking to come up with. (they can't run a power cable through the wall because you know perfectly well the target market for a digital art frame can't do any home improvement DIY stuff on their own or they'd just buy a monitor and mount it in a frame themselves)

seems more limiting that you can only hang it directly above a socket

I binge-read through this thread a couple weeks ago over a few days and I didn't keep count, but a large number of the kickstarters that were made fun of during their funding periods but got funded had time to crash and burn spectacularly in the year or two since it was posted made me sad when i reached this year because the whole thing was a veritable trail of tears

Soricidus posted:why do none of these kickstarter keyboards have numeric keypads Tenkeyless is the current trend. Some people take the gaming keyboard tenkeyless trend a bit far with recommending 60% 'gaming' keyboards. And for those who find a number row too much, there are 40% keyboards too. Because minimalism means making something simple by removing most of the things that are useful or something. On a serious note, it's supposed to be so the tenkeyless (I think they're also called 80%) sit closer to the mouse so the move keys and mouse are in a more comfortable position, and they take up a little less desk space for those with more limits by cutting out keys not too commonly used, and for those that need the tenkey pads, addon ones that can be set aside when not used are supposed to save space, so there may be some benefits to them in some limited cases. Also, laptops with tenkey pads that I have seen tend to be really huge and not fit in any reasonable laptop case.
