This is correct. A lot of the "you have to go to the taqueria that's in the back of the gas station where all the semis are parked, and you only go there on a day where there's an entire construction crew and two different off-duty mariachi bands eating there or its not as good" poo poo is stupid.

There are plenty of upscale "white people" taco places that make loving delicious tacos. And there are some authentic taquerias where no one working there speaks a word of english whose food tastes like rear end. Judging a restaurant's quality by some weird metric of what feels more latino is dumb.

:siren: Whitey mad his salmon and kale tacos suck. :siren:

And I guess my parents, but I can't call good authentic Texmex once a month!

I had a Pollo Rico and Pollo Regio down the street from where I used to live.

Pollo Regio was the one in the side of the gas station ... but that chicken wasn't so regio.

Blue Mesa Grill street tacos were pretty good last time I had them. It was a few years ago, and it was pretty much just steak and pico. Nice and fresh, and seemed more authentic than the sour cream and cheese covered monstrosities known as "Tex-Mex".

I'm not entirely sure that attorney privilege extends the way they're claiming it does, unless graft is now considered a business strategy that we need to keep hidden from competitors..

All this taco chat and no one thought to bring up tamales.

And then I came across this article: http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2016/06/06/zarif-khans-tamales-and-the-muslims-of-sheridan-wyoming

By then, Louie [Tamale] was a local legend, and his murder shocked everyone. [...]
That was in 1964. Two years later, the killer was tried, found guilty, hanged, removed from the gallows, then hanged again.

Well I don't know what to tell you, you're in the epicenter of one of the biggest and most profitable business oriented cities in the United States. Generating money and big business is what we're all about, all I can say is that I'm sorry if Houston isn't a good fit for you.

Rexicon1 posted:

Houston is massive and the population is extremely spread out, there isn't enough concentrated foot traffic to warranty their use or expense. Scrap yards and recycling centers focus most of their efforts at targeting people's home for their recyclables. Recycling as a whole is pretty health and competitive in Houston at the moment.
