High I am not sure where to ask this so I will put it here. I've noticed a weird thing where threads get gassed at strange times. Like the amy schummer thread chugged along fine then went it got to the topic of fat people and eating habbits it got gassed. Same thing with the thread about cartoon characters and if they had real BMI The bathroom bullshit thread honestly gave me something to think about in regards to trans issues. It got gassed when it went off the rails about how you are closed minded if you let someones sex stop you from getting with them or something. Just today there was a thread about single mothers that lasted like an hour. Why cant we talk about fat people? hell we even have a emote for hambest Also I dont understand the criteria for gasing threads. I personally hated the threads that had a cool title and then that was all the loving effort they put into them. But they would be easy to gas on sight. Its the threads that last a few days before getting gassed that confuse me.

A heck thread (the real term is word filtered now for some reason) from what i understand is a thread that devolves and divides posters into 3 distinct camps. posters in camp A arguing passionately one side of the issue. posters in camp B arguing passionately the opposing side or some other particular point of view. and camp C is posters coming into the thread and saying it is a heck thread and is stupid and needs gassing. The problem with heck threads is that they are a circular argument that is caught in a loop and have no end. once there is no chance of any new information or progress being shared or made it is time for the thread to be gassed. this is a moderation policy that i actually agree with. shitballs.
