Not a viking posted:You can do this normally though. Peak around the corner, shoot and get back in full cover in one order. Not vertically though (unless there is a ladder which isn't too high). Yeah was gonna say, you can allready do this. Declare move, move 2 inches to peek out around a corner, move 2 inches back. Wait for opponent to declare AROS (If they are newer opponents point out how they can shoot your unit). Then declare shoot and pick your targets.

Yeah, Shikami are one of the new profiles that when it came out I just gaped. I can see some of the inherent disadvantages of such a troop (very expensive for order-intensive close combat; no really heavy weapons make it hard to use as a bullying HI) but jesus christ that's a good price for a HI with all those mobility and protection advantages. What do you guys think about Order Sergeant Link Team SWC options? The HRL seems like a no-brainer, being only 15 points and 1.5 SWC, but what about the second heavy weapon of the link? Bringing a second HRL seems... fine, honestly. The other options are a Spitfire at 19/1 or MSR at 21/1.5. That seems like a lot of points for weapons that are basically sidegrades rather than upgrades. Also, the list I'm planning to play tomorrow for fun: Military Orders ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 10 JOAN OF ARC Lieutenant MULTI Rifle, Nanopulser / Pistol, AP CCW. (+1 | 49) TEUTONIC KNIGHT Spitfire / Pistol, AP CCW. (2 | 37) TEUTONIC KNIGHT Combi Rifle, Panzerfaust / Pistol, AP CCW. (0 | 34) TEUTONIC KNIGHT Combi Rifle, Panzerfaust / Pistol, AP CCW. (0 | 34) BROTHER KONSTANTINOS Specialist (Infiltration) Combi Rifle, D-Charges / Assault Pistol, CCW. (0 | 34) ORDER SERGEANT Spitfire / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 19) ORDER SERGEANT Heavy Rocket Launcher / Assault Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 15) ORDER SERGEANT Paramedic (MediKit) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) ORDER SERGEANT Paramedic (MediKit) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) ORDER SERGEANT Paramedic (MediKit) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) GROUP 2 1 SPEC. SERGEANT (CH: TO Camouflage, Infiltration) MULTI Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 33) 6 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army Hoping it's not terrible, since this is the kind of list that I always wanted to run in MO. The idea is simple enough: get up in the opponent's grill and kill his ARO pieces with coordinated orders, take what objectives I can, and try to set up the sniper to deny my opponent most of a turn with a timely reveal partway through the game. I'd definitely take the spitfire, as the burst 4 make you both more aggressive and more survivable in the active turn.

Yeah, sort of, I play on boards with a lot of vertical cliffs (we use sort of flat hills that can be stacked for multiple heights as well as some scenic stuff mixed in), buildings with 1/2/3 floors etc. Hell, even just buildings with taller tower parts on them that block LOS can do some really good stuff! I'll take some pictures sometime as an example of what I mean. Interiors can be really hard to do with vertical terrain as well unless you plan it out super well, I think they're really important to Infinity because this game lives and dies with its board. No Warmachine fuzzy felt or mouse mats for you!

Pierzak posted:What the hell are you gonna do with 3 Teutons post-HSN3? No, seriously, I wanna know. Or did I read something wrong and they are linkable after all? 7 coordinated orders over the course of the game? That's really it, but I've seen it work (much to my surprise). It's an incredibly aggressive and risky type of list, but it can move a bunch of models upfield quickly (akin to having a Sergeant link with pseudo-haris Teutons) while killing off ARO threats with coordinated Panzerfausts. After that you trust to the knights' stats to sell themselves dearly and hope nobody assassinates Joan. My version is a little more versatile than the list I saw previously: mine has an infiltrating specialist and a TO Sniper. Hopefully that means it's a bit better. e: Super-jump is awesome on vertical boards. Hell, even jumping normally can be a big deal. One of the tables at Saturday's tournament had foot-tall buildings, often with overhangs, and one of the games played on it apparently had a bunch of mobile rooftop play. Comrade Merf posted:Love the blacks and reds on these dudes. If you don't mind, what process did you use to get those? Since I'm typing this out, I may as well do the whole Morat (and most others) recipe for my own reference. Everything primed zenithally, black from the bottom, white from the top. This gives built-in preshading that working with thin paints takes advantage of. Blacks: VMA German Grey, highlighted with VGC Cold Grey, washed with thinned GW Nuln Oil, extreme edge highlights with VMC Ivory Reds: GW Mephiston Red, washed with GW Carroberg Crimson, highlighted with VGA Bloody Red, edge highlighted with VMC Ivory, glazed with GW Bloodletter, occasionally highlighted with VMA Flourescent Red, occasionally extreme highlights with VMC Ivory again if I want it to look more worn. If the shading isn't dramatic enough and the model isn't just a mook, I add some extra shading with P3 Coal Black. Dark Blues: VMA Insignia Blue, highlighted with VMA UK PRU Blue and VMC Ivory Hair: White base, thin GW Nuln Oil wash, Highlighted with VGA Skull White Guns (most recent version): VGC Cold Grey, washed 2x with thinned Vallejo Model Wash Light Grey, edge highlights/scratches with VMC Ivory, red bits with red recipe from above. Green Glow: VGC Extra Opaque Heavy Green base, highlight appropriate portions with VGA Skull White, glaze with VMC Flourescent Green until satisfied. Steel: VMA Gunmetal, washed with GW Nuln Oil, highlighted with VMA Aluminum. Any relatively dark and light metallics work fine. Gold: Golden Artist Acrylics Iridescent Bronze (Fine), washed with GW Seraphim Sepia, highlighted with Scalecolor Elven Gold and VMA Aluminum or other bright silver paint. Blue Melee Weapons: VGC Falcon Turquoise with a bit of VGA Black, highlighted with VGC Turquoise + VMC Ivory, edge highlights with VMC Ivory. Leather: VMA Panzer/Armor Brown, highlighted with VMC Ivory, washed with GW Agrax Earthshade. Base: paint thinned VGC Scurf Green (now Scurvy Green, I believe, my bottle is super old) in shaded areas under model etc, while still wet paint rest of base with similarly thin P3 Arcane Blue, allow to mix at edges. Stipple on VMC Ivory with a relatively dry brush.

Built a fair bit of Infinity this weekend, those Kameel remotes I've converted to Nomad use fit a lot better (aesthetically) with the modern sputnik models than the old Zond remotes. Getting them onto the 40mm bases was a bitch though, half the legs broke, and have had to be re-glued in a fragile and slightly off-looking way. So I now have 4 utility remotes, but the 2 which will be unarmed, 8-pt flash pulse/sniffer models are liable to break frequently in transport! Happy with the way they look though, especially my new TR bot. Will post pictures in a bit. Also assembled 2 extra Mobile Brigada conversions and Jaguar + Bandit conversions. Just going to put in one picture, of the Reaktion Zond. I used a spare weapon from an Antenociti's Workshop model, and its ammo belt. Didn't quite come out how I wanted, but I think it has a bit more menace than the normal HMG-bots you see on most stock models. So I'm playing a newish guy who runs JSA; he's previously played a Pan-O Military Order so I want him to see what a Highlander army is like so this is the 250 point list I came up with. I've also not played against JSA so I'm concerned I don't have the right coverage, anything missing or I should swap out? My plan is to use core link team of 3 Volunteer + 3rd Grey + Isobel and then move Wallace up with 3 highlanders in coordinated orders. I feel I never play Wallace hard enough. Once I make him lieutenant everyone knows anyway (because inspiring leadership makes everyone regular) so I'm going to push him up harder. Plus I can always drop the core link and bring in 4 highlanders + Wallace if plans change. I was trying to fit in a Forward Observer S.A.S. to target then spec hit with grenades but I'd have to drop the warcor or maybe make a volunteer chain not paramedic. 250 Wally loose ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 7 3 1 VOLUNTEER Chain Rifle, Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. Eh, it is more visible than on the 55mm bases for my other ones, cause the remote's legs have been assembled higher and tighter. But once painted black with the rest of the model finished, it's no more noticeable than a clear acrylic rod would be. Also, replacing it would be a lot of trouble.

His bikers shouldn't be too bad. So is a little smaller but a lot wider than s2. And they are impetuous so they can't claim cover. They have mimetism and 8-6 MOV so they can be a thorn, but once you hit them they should go down easily enough. A flame thrower would do very well against them.

Yeah, flamethrowers on cheap models, or really good long-range ARO models, are the best way to deal with bikes. The only thing bikes have over conventional models, really, is don't hide away on turn 1 because those things can get in position to roll up one flank really easily.

My impression is that the samaritan is best in a fire team of rodoks or xeodrons. On his own he is kinda squishy (no mimetism compared to the legate). Don't put a hacker in a unidron fire team. Every time you hack, you'll provoke AROs on the entire team.
