LES. :bang: MOTHERFUCKING. :bang: MOORE. :bang:

That's the John Darling book, and Les is doing a signing in a room above an old lady's garage, which makes perfect sense when you know that his agent used to be homeless before she found his manuscript in the trash.

The Fallen Star storyline was published in 1997, which screws up the whole "ten years ago, but still somehow now" theory we've had going for awhile, unless Les was just sitting on a case of unsold units for all that time. Since the book was a smash flop, that's actually plausible.

I just can't get over how much the Batuikverse bends over backwards to fawn all over Les Moore's stupid loving novels. Like, there's no reason anyone would read a book about an rear end in a top hat minor TV personality or a woman dying slowly of cancer after every other terrible thing that happened to her.

e: Wait, didn't the woman who was going to start her own bookstore in her house die? Isn't that the death we've been stuck on for two weeks?

The thing is, you could kind of explain the Starbuck Jones thing away by saying "this is this world's Star Trek/Star Wars" or something, then the constant interest makes more sense. But as far as we've seen it just an old comic series and ancient TV serial.
