Maps cost over 200k now.

In a goon group today, we did about 10 maps. Got Aquapolis about 6 times. Never made it past room 5, which we only got to once.

i like how the crafting changes have panned out, since with universal sets there's now a clear progression path beyond "i don't know, spend all the money on the server overmelding eight sets"

also the augmented red scrip stuff costing 1/2 as much as the original red scrip stuff did is very nice

Universal sets are back? I'm surprised. Pleasantly but even so.

In other news, I waas looking over my logs for the most recent Weeping City I did, because I felt like a lot of people died on the final boss.

There were 57 deaths.

Your friend should know that the balls do exactly 50% maxhp damage. As a result, you're better off having the tank stand in melee range, having the rest of the party stand on the opposite corner, and having a healer pop balls, like in A4/A4S.
Actually it's 60% and it cannot be mitigated by cooldowns. I have tried. My hp as a PLD is 24296, each and every orb has hit me for 15k on the dot every time. Sentinel/Rampart did nothing. Meanwhile an attentive healer who I was running with reported that the orbs did 9k to them.
Pyramid phase also has Ozma attack randomly, the actual attacks don't do much damage, it's the stacking bleed they inflict that's nasty.

The meteor placement looks decent at least, that's what really killed us in our attempts.

You get one map a day and unless you're a cheaty cheater with alts/friends you trust, you can only stock a baseline maximum of four maps: 1 deciphered, 1 in inventory, 1 per retainer.

Well, considering you can only gather 1 a day and you'll probably find one within the first 5 to 10 minutes of looking at the right nodes, sure :v:

I got that same exact feeling because of the animation on you being a wide circle reticle thing but I don't have any direct evidence to say if it does. I'd be interested in learning this too.

Similarly, does Ozma just vomit those bleeds out randomly?

Yeah I had a run where a white mage with some good initiative decided he was the one to soak orbs and it worked extremely well.

Speaking of crafting/gathering, do you guys care for any of these spreadsheets for crafting?

* 50-60 Leve Efficiency per Gil
* Company Crafting costs

My spreadsheets broke for some reason and I'm reworking on them for this patch, so might as well see if anyone cares to have a few of them released.

Is it 60? I know that cooldowns range from "ineffective" to "actively harmful" depending on the class, but I never really paid attention as to whether it was half or slightly more. Good to know, though.

I forgot to account for VIT bonus there but I definitely don't have 30k HP with it and I am 100% certain on the damage from the orbs.

Yes, Pyramid Ozma's attacks are both completely random split between the three parties and a small AoE.

In very passive aggressive way sometimes, everything still has to be completed in 20-30 minutes and wipes are end of the world. I've seen a person silently votekicked out of DF so many times and I'm just like what, no, you guys are just as bad
Edit: Ok, I've had lots of great DF experiences too. My favorite is when I started FFXIV and Keeper of Lake was old content already but I was matched with tank who spoke only Spanish and two other newbies. I thought it would be quick 20 minutes before going to bed, but we wiped a lot and on last attempt of last boss got it together and finished the dungeon at like 1 am with 5min left on timer. Generally the salty players are jaded hardcore players or wannabe-hardcore refugees from WoW, latter are worst

Weaver, if I'm not mistaken. Get all the newly blue scrip gear, upgrade the mainhand, and then make yourself a set of carbonweave so that all your other crafters can catch up. 4/5 carbonweave pieces are weaver, and you can likely just send over the mats and a tip to a leatherworker for the boots.

the carbonweave set works as a servicable interim to get all your other crafting jobs to 2* crafting viability while you get the new red scrip weaver set since 4/5 of the good universal set pieces are weaver as well

there are certain recipes, generally the top end stuff for the current patch, that cannot be made unless you're a specialist

they also give +20 control/craftsmanship

there's also a bunch of specialist actions but they're basically useless because they introduce more rng to a system where your goal is to remove as much as possible

Balmung goons ran Aquapolis a bunch yesterday and I think we all made out with at -least- 300-500k each. We had two of the maps get to the 7th floor and I got an orchestrion roll that sells for 1.3 million or so. Really like the addition to the game and the first time that rear end in a top hat boss appeared in the middle of an encounter was fun and exciting.
