Played a little mini tournament yesterday. 3 rounds, no cut. 15 players. My list was the Bossk/Dengar posted earlier in the thread. I went 2 and 1, only lost to the guy that ended up taking first place (so I don't feel too bad about it) and placed 5 of 15. Dengar (33) Veteran Instincts (1) K4 Security Droid (3) Unhinged Astromech (1) Punishing One (12) Bossk (35) Calculation (1) Heavy Laser Cannon (7) 4-LOM (1) Recon Specialist (3) K4 Security Droid (3) Total: 100 View in Yet Another Squad Builder It was a hoot. What a fun list to play. Game 1 vs. a TIE swarm. 6 TIEs with crack shot, one was Howlrunner and the /fo was Zeta Leader (take a stress to roll an extra attack die) As you can see from the photo, things are about to go very, very badly for me. I tried to overshoot the swarm with Dengar to draw their fire away from Bossk. I accomplished half of that, and Dengar didn't make it quite far enough to avoid the swarm guns. After killing Dengar, they pinned in Bossk against a rock for 3 turns and slowly shot him to pieces. I only destroyed one black crack Second game the guy had an Inquisitor, Whisper, and Yorr with Palpatine. You can see at that point that Whisper is about to get wrecked. I don't think Whisper even got a shot off before getting dunked on. PS11 Dengar laughs at your PS9 Whisper with initiative bid. Once he lost that ship, it was pretty much a done deal. Inquisitor likes to stay at range 3, but so does HLC Bossk. I lost Dengar in the second to last round of shooting. Game 3, this guy had the coolest list I saw all day. Palob Godalhi (20) Attanni Mindlink (1) Twin Laser Turret (6) Recon Specialist (3) Cloaking Device (2) Stygium Particle Accelerator (2) Black Sun Ace (23) Attanni Mindlink (1) Tansarii Point Veteran (17) Attanni Mindlink (1) Tractor Beam (1) "Heavy Scyk" Interceptor (Cannon) (2) Kaa'To Leeachos (15) Attanni Mindlink (1) Concussion Missiles (4) Guidance Chips (0) Total: 99 View in Yet Another Squad Builder The mindlink worked really well with those ships, because they were all matching pilot skill so he was activating them in the most convenient order to maximize their focus stacking/stress relief. If he was taking a red move with one ship and green with all the others, he'd activate the red move one first and then clear off the stress on the others as they moved. I only had to eat a total of 3 TLT attacks. The game ended with Bossk and the Black Sun Ace spinning circles around an asteroid, with him trying to get out of my auxillary arc and me desperately trying to not let him get behind me. ended up catching him after he did a k-turn (probably the smart move for him).

Sorry about going off the grid recently, Been a rough couple of weeks. I got home from Colorado on Friday before Texas regional, and found my place in a state of complete disrepair. Water leaks, internet and TV services out, and someone tried to break in through one of the windows! Anyway, I have gotten most of the things fixed by now, but for some reason my internet speed is throttled down to pre-56k levels of speed. Despite my best attempts and help from my cable company, I haven't been able to get it back to full service. Until I can get this fixed, I am gonna have to drop from the league. Sorry to everyone for not being able to complete our games, right now TTS looks like a slideshow at the best of times. Hopefully I can get this fixed by the next league. *Bonus Texas regional report* So, despite everything that happened, I got my rear end over to Madness comics for Texas regional. I got to see a bunch of people from the mid cities groups that I haven't seen in awhile. I didn't have time to really practice one of the lists I wanted to run, so I defaulted to this list I have been messing with on and off for the last couple of months. 4-LOM — G-1A Starfighter 27 Veteran Instincts 1 Tractor Beam 1 Mist Hunter 0 Ship Total: 29 Guri — StarViper 30 Push the Limit 3 Electronic Baffle 1 Cloaking Device 2 Autothrusters 2 Virago 1 Ship Total: 39 Trandoshan Slaver — YV-666 29 Ion Projector 2 Ship Total: 31 Total: 99 Round 1: Cool guy, ran Poe, Miranda and stress-hog. Killed the stress-hog and got Miranda down to one hull, then whiffed a range three shot to finish her off before she could get away. Green dice were not my friend this game and it took to long to finish ships off when I had the advantage. Score: 0-1. MVP: Trando slaver. Killed the y-wing and put most of the damage on Miranda. Round 2: Opponent had a neat mix of Howlrunner, black cracks and zeta leader(?) This was a game of unimpressive dice. I would roll 2 or 3 hits, and he would roll 2 or 3 evades. I don't think one of his ships had less then one damage, I just couldn't push damage through, despite concentrated fire. Score 0-2. MVP: Trando slaver. Ate every crack shot and asked for more. Also, scored the only kill of the match when he blasted a black crack that got to close after a red stop. Round 3: Ran 2x u-boats followed by Zuckuss. Meh game. No offense(especially if you are a goon) but the whining non-stop about losing your previous matches and then whining that you were losing this one made it a real chore. Score: 1-2. MVP: Trando slaver(notice a trend here?) Put two crits on one uboat, causing it to fly off the board, and then went head to head with the last one for the win. Round 4: Quad Imperial list, Carnor, Cowall, Inquisitor, and interceptor generic. Great game, easily one of the best of the tournament. If you were at the regional and you heard two guys shouting about "E-SPORTS, WE GOT E-SPORTS HERE" and laughing like a pair of loons, then that was us. Can't really say much, was one of those games were you don't care if you win or lose. Score: 1-3. MVP: Trando slaver. One shotted both Tetran Cowall and the Inquisitor. Round 5: RAC with Vader and gunner, with Soontir as backup. Another fun game, was her first tournament and was a little nervous it seemed. But, we had a really fun and clean game. Again, not much to say here, was a fun match. Score: 2-3. MVP: tie between Trando slaver and Guri. Guri killed RAC and then let fell chase her long enough to buy slaver and 4-lom to turn around and converge on Fell. Trando slaver killed Fell over two turns while 4-lom derped around. Round 6: Ran Palp mobile, Vader and Baron of the empire(?) Again, a fun match. We both had the same idea of ion projector large base with a red stop to use as a blocker. Guy was really jolly and we both had a good laugh over some of the crazy dice swings and unexpected bumps during the match. Score: 2-4. MVP: Guri. Killed Palp, and then led both TIE advanced around the map for 10+ turns. My green dice just couldn't keep up at this point in the tourney and she got taken out. Final thoughts: Had a good time, enjoyed the majority of my games. I wish I had more time to practice, instead of having to default to a list I am still working on. But, I know I would not have even gotten the wins I did if I had gone with a better list, but one I had no real experience flying. Also a bit of insult to injury, of the four or five evans in the tourney, I was the one who didn't get a starfield mat raffle prize. Oh well, win some lose some. Also, if you were there, I was the big guy using a Star Wars CCG box as his ship tray, wearing a Rammstein Amerika shirt sweating like a pig. Getting use to Texas humidity after being in Colorado is no joke! You don't even notice it when you live here, but you sure as hell notice when you come back from vacation out of state.

I brought my Mindlink list to a 14-person summer kit tourney in Portland yesterday and got myself a coin! It's Binyare Pilot, Kaato with Mindlink, and 3x Black Sun Ace with Mindlink. My round 1 opponent was pretty new to the game (he's more into STAW) and it looked like he was flying pretty much everything he owned. Gold Squadron Pilot + Ion Cannon Turret, Chewbacca + Millennium Falcon, Luke Skywalker + R2-D2 + Expert Handling. I basically threw all of my ships at Luke, then the Y-Wing, then Chewie. He got one of my Kihraxz fighters before the match was over. 100-24 Round 2 was against Biggs with R2-D2 and Shield Upgrade; Kanan with FCS, TLT, Rec Spec, and Title; and Zeb docked on the Ghost with the title. This was really close because I decided I needed to nuke Biggs before he got a chance to regen shields and so I could throw all of my shots at the Ghost. Getting shot by that back arc and the TLT messed some of my dudes up, and when I finally got Biggs off the board, he launches Zeb to hit my fighters who were in pursuit of the Ghost. He ended up getting two of my Kihraxz fighters and dealt all but one damage to the other one before I was able to concentrate Zeb down. 100-48 My third round opponent just came off a win vs Ballpoint Penguin running Palp+Inky+TC Fel and was running VI Zuckuss with Mist Hunter, Sensor Jammer, and Dengar; a decked out Manaroo; and Palob with Dorsal Turret, Adaptability (-1), and Intelligence Agent. There's an interesting interaction with the timing between Palob and Kaato with mindlink in that nothing really happens except Palob gets a free focus. Kaato either has two or three focus tokens for Palob to choose from or Kaato has his only focus stolen only to grab one from his buddy who immediately gets his token back. It's like that scene in the Simpsons where Homer's in hell being force fed donuts except this was with focus tokens. With regards to what happened in the game, he spent the first few turns flying back and forth on his side of the map trying to decide how to engage while I spread my dudes out to cover any of the lanes he could have gone through with his ships. This unfortunately led to Manaroo getting behind Zuckuss so she couldn't turn in properly and ever get her torps off on me and leaving Zuckuss out to dry. My Binayre pirate was 1v1ing palob all the way on the other side of the board just to keep him out of the fray. 30 minutes into the game, he finally gets his first shot, where he tractors one of my fighters onto a rock. The next turn, I go max speed straight at Zuckuss's face and torch him. Then I throw everyone at Manaroo and kill her before she gets her 3rd shot. I still have all of my ships and his only ship is a HWK. 100-0 My last round opponent was my other buddy from our local scene who was flying VI Wes with R2 Astromech + IA, VI Ten Numb Mangler, and Farlander with Opportunist. This was a crazy game where I had to deny his entire shenaniganery with Wes and Farlander to have had a chance. He set up on the opposite side of me on the board so I had to weave my way through the asteroids to get a proper engagement. I also had to be sure to move all of my ships in an exact order so I could tempt him into shooting the ship with two focus tokens every turn until I get Wes off the board. He takes the bait the first round of shooting but I'm range 3 through a rock for all of the shots so I deny all but a shield damage and a mostly pointless crit. The next round I get everyone in position to fight and he dumps all of his shots into a double focused, injured fighter who he couldn't seal the deal on while I dump all my shots on Farlander and leave him with 1 hull. the next couple of turns are spent weaving my injured ships in and out and blocking every single move he makes and firing at Wes. I had 1 Kihraxz running and my two Zs left chasing down Ten Numb, and it was just too much heat for Ten to handle. 100-48

So i never really use Jan Ors for no other reason then there are a lot of ships and I have a hard time playing everything that sounds cool (first world X-Wing problems), but there was a Hanger Bay type event at a local shop so I decided to try some stuff I never really use. This was my Rebel list: Lothal Rebel (35) Hera Syndulla (1) "Chopper" (0) Jake Farrell (24) Veteran Instincts (1) Proton Rockets (3) Push the Limit (3) Autothrusters (2) A-Wing Test Pilot (0) Jan Ors (25) Adaptability (0) Dorsal Turret (3) Kanan Jarrus (3) Total: 100 Throwing 6 dice on a Proton Rocket and 6 dice at range 1 with the Ghost was crazy. One shot a Soontir and nearly one shot a cloaked Whisper, even though my opponent had Palp. Also, having Expert Handling, APL, and Intil Agent on Boskk and having him play blocker on Aces was surprisingly effective.

Man I gotta say I love having this TTS league. It's let me fly a lot of poo poo I'd never get to fly in real life. Double generic phantoms, mad cow disease, etc. The crew at my FLGS tends to be a bit on the hardcore side of the game. It's either play with them, at that level, or play with the newbies (there are always a bunch). I'm happy to do both, I do it all the time, but sometimes it's fun to play in that middle ground.
