That is an approximation of the sound I just made watching that while thinking about what I've seen from Star Citizen.

Crobberts you are sooo hosed. I guess this is the revenge of the evil publishers eh?

Most of the staff at cig have never shipped a game ever. a lot of the "senior" staff have never shipped anything, let alone something as complicated as an MMO. Most of the staff with experience were driven out, where they have already started shipping games from scratch.

SC-23012 BUYING STUFF IN IN SHOPS CAN TELEPORT YOU

quote:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1 Land your ship at B, C or D in olisar, whereever there are least ppl (preferrably none)
2 get inside the shops
3 try on and buy some things
4 when you leave you might notice that your ship is hundreds of meters away, as you were teleportet to the more populatet area at A, not where you landed at B, C or D

ACTUAL RESULT
I landed on C in olisar and then went inside to buy some armor and weapons, after being finished I left only to find out my ship is far away as I was teleportet to A from C

EXPECTED RESULT
If I land on C I expect to come out at C again not at A, I would've noticed if i walked a hundred meter secret tunnel or something

For the benefit of people who have no clue what he's talking about. Heathrow airport has 5 terminals, imagine going into a shop in terminal 4 trying on a jacket and suddenly finding yourself a mile away in terminal 1.

All the parts that aren't real gameplay look great. Then it's back to the same old animations and wonky combat we know from ME3 for a couple of seconds, then back to bullshots of pretty planets and cool space stuff. But at least the fact I can recognize their lovely real gameplay means that they have real gameplay.

The way they can't even get a fix on the static miniature ship display models is very amusing to me. I laughed my rear end off at shots of them misbehaving several times today. Of all things to not be able to get right, a thing that's supposed to just sit there and not move or do anything.

I'm not really a fan of Mass Effect games and am skeptical of this one, but at least I can wait until reviews come out and decide then.

And then wait 6 months or a year for it to go on sale and get it for cheap. And even then, SC won't be out.

Even only compared to CIG's trailer porn, which is the only reasonably decent content they've ever put out, this makes everything CIG has ever put out look like absolute trash.

Yeah, this is their 2nd game in the Frostbite engine and they get the whole "space can be crazy and amazing" thing. ME:A was always going to look fantastic. I hope it's also a good game.

thats like, your opinion man. I thought the trilogy was one of the greatest pieces of interactive fiction to ever be put out. until the last 15 minutes and that loving star child bullshit.

but even at its worse its laughable to compare it to whatever hackey crap croberts and co have done over the last 30 years.

CIG can't even do as well as bouncing around in the mako in mass effect 1 on heightfield terrains. that was 1000% more exploration than they will ever manage.

someone add mass effect Andromeda to that graph they always pull out, make sure to say its development started in like 1998 though, gotta make SC look good.

edit: or are they gonna go with the "console trash" argument :allears:

I predict that Squadron 42 is going to be split off into a feature length movie with digital release, and a small game consisting of a series of short missions with no NPC's, FPS or co-op.

What is the question? Did you not think that ME:A held up to the hype? For me, it did. It looks awesome. Very, very brief glimpses of what look like gameplay in between cutscene style stuff. Coupled with the other trailer I'm still really optimistic.

life is short - play hard
While trailers just show the best visual impressions to sell the game with cherry picking footage that may cover a disappointment later (Star Wars Battlefront says hi. I fell for it, I admit, deleted that boring poo poo after 1 week), the Mass Effect stuff just wipes the floor with SC.
