I got WWHD and I really hope I like it because I was not enjoying Twilight Princess all that much.

I wish the sale extended to retail since the game's still expensive in the wild, but I guess this'll do.

Apparently Rhythm Heaven Megamix is dual-audio?

Anyway, a few more ESRB ratings: Drill Dozer, the GBA game which released in Japan and Europe several months ago, and New Adventure Island and R-Type, two Turbografx-16 games which have been out in Japan for ages that seemed like they'd never be released anywhere else.

The latter two can't possibly come out here unless Konami gets up off its lazy rear end and allows an NA Turbografx VC, and we all know that that's not going to happen.

Unless they're stockpiling them for an eventual NX Turbografx VC, I guess. Konami isn't going to support the Wii U past approving various NES/SNES games for VC, but they might just get in on the ground floor of supporting the NX, as long as "supporting" means "yeah, sure, throw our old poo poo on your virtual storefront" and not actually doing any work.

NA dudes, there's an extra 10% discount on all the first-party sales titles via My Nintendo. There are also a few extra discounted games since the e3 announcement, including Voxboy and some Renegade Kid titles.

EU people, a few extra games were added to the sale including Smash and Boxboy (plus a 10% Smash discount coupon via My Nintendo email).

Rhythm Heaven Megamix is digital-only in NA; Europe is getting a full retail release but it won't be available until the end of October.

Drill Dozer's a great sidescrolling action game from the people behind Horse Cards and Pocket Monsters.

Terraria Wii U ain't cheap but it's a good port that makes use of the gamepad in sensible ways.

Has there been any indication of support winding down for Splatoon yet? (splatfests, etc.) I might finally get in on that action, unless it's officially considered a bad time to jump on board.

Funny, as I consider buying the game, I am honestly relieved there's no voice chat. It's like I'm less obligated to be serious about the game or something. Or it's easier to maneuver a few games around my wife's schedule. It just makes the game fit into my current lifestyle better. I thought this was silly Nintendo apologist stuff (like praising the lack of an achievement system instead of an honest "well I can do without it"), but lack of voice chat truly IS a feature in this case.

I dunno if they're working on new maps anymore, but they're still putting out new weapon variants, just at a slower rate than before.

And no indication that splatfests won't continue. It seems like relatively little work to create the content that goes with them (A few art pieces, a few lines of text for the announcers) and the currency you win from them isn't gainable anywhere else.

I'd actually expect a sequel rather than a port, just so they have a nice clean build optimized for the NX going forward that's easier to add new different content into and doesn't become a shambling zombie of slapped-on makeshift patching workarounds.

I already have like 2,500 coins, so I think I'm going to get Zelda Picross. How is it? I've never played a picross game before, but watched a video of the gameplay for the pokemon one.

It seems like it's kinda like Sudoku only with filled/not filled instead of 1-10.

it was my first picross game and I now have a picross sickness eating my brain (I liked it and now I can't stop consuming picross)

start with Zelda Picross because it has the worst control scheme and then you'll go through the rest of the 3DS Picross library and be like "wow this is even better"

...but then you get to the end and a gorilla starts throwing barrels at you!

I set up region free stuff basically only to play Picross 3D 2

If they released it in the US I would buy it again and also play it again because I can't read the cute descriptions of completed puzzles

I'd actually expect a sequel rather than a port, just so they have a nice clean build optimized for the NX going forward that's easier to add new different content into and doesn't become a shambling zombie of slapped-on makeshift patching workarounds.

They might be wise to have Splatoon NX be a launch title and have it a thing you can play with people still on the Wii U, but the NX version has a bunch of cool extras and exclusives that makes the U players want to get an NX. This way they don't fracture the userbase AND they advertise to it.

I mean if Square Enix of all loving companies can make an MMO work cross-platform on ps3, ps4, and pc, Nintendo can figure out how to do a shootsquids on U and NX.

Those cool extras cannot be weapons, gear, or maps, so what's the point? Just do cross-platform on the same game or something.
