I don't hate the ground set visuals but the more I look at them the more I am inclined to believe the design inspiration was "high end office furniture."

And oh hey you can get the temporal marks/tokens from the Badlands battlezone. That'll be handy if the queues are horrible.

* The Dyson Sphere Voth Battlezone was giving an incorrect amount of marks and dilithium. This has been adjusted to the correct amount of half the prior reward.

I laugh every time I see "The Assignments to recruit Romulan Bridge officers do not appear".

Broken since at least the Great Map Rework when all those other doff missions vanished forever and not eveen acknowledged until a few months ago. It will probably never be fixed.

Yeah that pretty much confirms my thought that it was a WIP quest chain thing for the ship that they dropped midway through because it was dumb, they had no time, or both, and it got through because of Cryptic's lovely QA.

Didn't the dev who made the doff system leave the company ages ago, and nobody left there knows how it works? Basically the same reason bort nerfed the XP from the 12-hour klank missions because he was a colossal sperg and didn't realize the system designer put them there specifically to give klanks a little bonus. :downs: I imagine a "fix"for the romulan doffs will just be throwing them on a vendor for 100k dll or something a year down the line instead of the staff actually trying to fix anything. Since they already got their monetization from the system, they aren't going to bother redoing it.

Heretic was legit the best dev STO ever had, as evidenced by him writing and implementing one of the best systems in the game entirely on his own time... then having the remaining shitheels slowly ruin it after he left.

I feel like this game would really be pretty good for a F2P if they basically kept most of the systems unchanged from LoR and just added more content. I really feel like that was the game's golden age.

It was improved a lot at LoR, but it didn't really hit its peak until the Dyson and Undine patches. The battlezones were going and they'd patched up the worst of the wierdness.

Update nine always seemed to me the high water point for the game. At that point all they really needed to do honestly was just keep putting out new group maps and episodes.

Instead we got crafting the next update.

Crafting by itself wasn't horrible, it was the upgrade system which made things so awful. The whole thing is just a nightmare of clicking, hidden costs, and RNG screwing.

You need to have old autographed q pictures or risian pearls from the ship events (from back when they used the same currency from year to year instead of having the 2016 event only versions they do now). If you have those there's an event buyback tab in the event store where you can get the emotes and some other stuff to keep people from bitching that their currency got obsoleted. If you don't have those then you can't get the emotes right now but they said they'd make them available through other means at some point but who knows when that will be.

I bought the emotes with leftover 2014? 2015? currency widgets. Other than being borderline useless, they actively place themselves on your visible ship power bars randomly if you don't have them on there somewhere. So whenever I swap from one ship to another, the little fuckers pop back up like some sort of blue space herpes. Solution is to place them on bar 8 or 9 somewhere or some other bar number you don't actually have displayed.

This. They're really annoying, and seem to take priority over just about everything else. Readying a brand new ship now means junking all the white gear and then removing the emotes from 1-6 on the first bar.
