My music teacher in 2nd grade was Mr. Dillon. Every Tuesday in music class he'd sing a song about animals, and he'd make his arms and hands into a big set of jaws and yell "I'm a hungry alligator!", and use his jaw hands to tickle my stomach, and I'd pee my pants every single time. Eventually my mom started sending a second pair of pants and underwear in my backpack every Tuesday. He only did it to me and I peed every single time. In middle school I heard Mr. Dillon had been in a terrible chainsaw accident, and I couldn't have been happier.

We were taught how to sing classical opera when I was in school. Is this what passes for musical education to the lower classes?

Ten little friend of the family boys went out to dine; One choked his little self, and then there were nine. Nine little friend of the family boys sat up very late; One overslept himself, and then there were eight. Eight little friend of the family boys traveling in Devon; One said he'd stay there, and then there were seven. Seven little friend of the family boys chopping up sticks; One chopped himself in half, and then there were six. Six little friend of the family boys playing with a hive; A bumble-bee stung one, and then there were five. Five little friend of the family boys going in for law; One got in chancery, and then there were four. Four little friend of the family boys going out to sea; A red herring swallowed one, and then there were three. Three little friend of the family boys walking in the zoo; A big bear hugged one, and then there were two. Two little friend of the family boys sitting in the sun; One got frizzled up, and then there was one. One little friend of the family boy left all alone; He went out and hanged himself and then there were None. (One little friend of the family boys living all alone; He got married, and then there were none.) We sang this in music class in Alabama

O Canada, the Canadian animation block on Cartoon Network, did a cartoon to that song. Both characters die at the end if I recall. I mention that song whenever someone is confused because they moved, their cat ran away, then they found out the cat showed up several weeks later at the old house. They're always all,"how did you know!?" I'm like, "cause that's what cats do." I always hated when we had to sing "the sloop John D" in music class in school. But I think it was because the music teacher had a terrible voice and piano accompaniment sounds really dumb with that song. well friend if the next part goes '...the very next day' then i definitely recognize the tune but im not sure if we did that one in music class (a class in school typically part of primary education where students are taught the fundamental concepts, history, and basic performance of music*) or even chorus but im sure there were plenty of faggy music going on up the wazoo, plus the woman that taught the class had to have been a lesbian and rocked a STLB mullet like Uncle Jesse at the time and wore nothing besides button up dress shirts tucked into slacks...i also recall seeing her in a bowtie. wow might have been the first lesbian i have ever known which is knda crazy if u think about it ^ ok so like that only instead with the face of Dave Coulier, not the finest example of a lesbian for my first but certainly a lesbian none the less even though i thought nothing unusual about it all at the time *http://www.pbs.org/parents/education/music-arts/the-benefits-of-music-education/ http://www.vh1savethemusic.org/ Mariana Horchata fucked around with this message at 03:01 on Jun 17, 2016 |
