It's pretty much a brand new feature to the landscape of multiplayer, hence being misunderstood. The NPCs are there to make the battles feel like an authentic sci-fi military operation through quantity and scripting, just like a singleplayer story campaign. They land in drop pods or zipline from dropships, work as a group, yell battle chatter, drag injured buddies to safety, etc. Halo and Battlefield should have innovated with the same thing years ago I think, particularly Halo where AI marines could be dropped off into the map by Pelicans, which have never appeared in MP despite being a popular element of the IP. It would be a big step backward if the AI was removed from Titanfall 2, even if it had 64-player battles, but I can understand some folks would like game modes without them.

Nobody thought the NPC AI was meant to replace players, it's just a slow-moving target for people who can't kill other players to knock time off of their Titan deployment delay. As someone who likes Dota, I don't think the call of duty formula was enhanced by adding creeps to farm.

The NPCs don't work like DOTA creeps, either. The idea of them is make sure there's always action going on. They added Pilot vs. Pilot and it was awful. The maps are designed for pilots, titans, and npcs.

The terrible choice to include AI soldiers making the map design be equally terrible isn't exactly a point in Titanfall's favor. Also, popping man-shaped balloons is a pretty poor excuse for "action". Also, Infinite Warfare looks really chunky. I miss Advanced Warfare's crazy flyaround bullshit. They show any multiplayer, yet?

I have to say, I don't think it's op, but man have I gotten a lot of long shots with it in the 5 or 6 games I've played so far. Headshots, on the other hand, are at like 4 total despite having leveled it up to 6 in those few games. They are going to be a royal pain give the hit boxes and size of the projectiles.

Here's a short article about the bad guy faction in IW. The 'slaughter drones' in particular sound like they'll make for some interesting encounters. All in all it almost kind of seems like Killzone except this time the Nazi-looking space fascists aren't the good guys.

There was a game on aquarium last night where I charged in front and just wrecked the first four people I saw, and that was with no attachments. I've got it double prestiged and maxed out. Can't wait to see what rapid fire does to it. It also apparently rapes scorestreaks with the exception of the cerebus (something like 50 shots to kill one). I've heard tale it kills a wraith in three shots, but haven't confirmed that. Also I'm getting on a little earlier than usual tonight if anyone is around. NSA - I'm looking at you, kid.

Aside from being slightly bugged, the Rogue variant of the merc specialist isn't bad; it's strictly kill based, so the faster you are at killing dudes, the faster it recharges. It would almost be as good as simply running Purifier with a straight up SMG/Shotgun rush build. 3/5 The only problem is the last kill to charge it is your ability. If you kill anyone else after that (because Annihilator sucks), it'll say you now have their ability instead, but it won't change.

In this scenario, you have to press left on the D-pad to flip the weapon you originally earned for the weapon you earned most recently. Your super icon will have a little indicator showing when you can flip, and which weapon you'd be flipping to. I think when you flip, you lose the ability to do it again until you use your super and earn another weapon, but I'm not 100% on that.

Over the weekend some 14 year old blundered into the Double XP FFA lobby and immediately started telling everyone they should have sniper/melee only matches, whined for three games when everyone just ignored him because the first thing you do on PC is turn off voice chat, and left. An hour later I found him in a S&D lobby where he'd convinced five other people to do the same thing, so I took the opportunity being the person who decided that they even played at all to just keep doing whatever I wanted while he got increasingly shrill every time he ate a Marshal pellet. It reminded me of the good times.
