I haven't actually finished that quest yet, I suppose I should finish it before complaining more, but still... the very first time I fired up Fallout 4 and heard Travis on the radio, I was just like "WTF is this poo poo" and turned it off after like a minute. Now I just kind of tolerate him.

Also, one of my favorite moments from this game: I am in power armor at a settlement. Another settler, the only other person wearing power armor, asks me "Power Armor? Is that really necessary?" In dozens of hours of playtime, that is the only time I've ever heard that line.

Honestly he has a lot more personality before the transition, but if you find that personality annoying instead of funny you should at least find him tolerable once he puts on his faux-Three Dog persona.

Who did you give the network holotape to? Doing the mass fusion quest from the institute automatically makes you an enemy of Bos, iirc. Kill father, talk to Preston and give the holotape to Sturges if you want to do the Minutemen ending. Don't aggro the Bos if you want to keep them around.

Yes, please. Not a total blackout, just use judgment. Revealing an item location, not a big deal. Revealing a major plot twist, no thanks. Some of us take the game slowly, especially with how much Survival slows the game down.

What I do is scan the top of the post and if I start seeing names or quest references I don't recognize, I skip. But one particular plot twist that I didn't anticipate was at the bottom of a post and it was just unavoidable.

Us slowies do appreciate it.

How much worse is the gunplay in Fallout New Vegas? I might go buy it today. Is it worth buying the ultimate edition vs regular?

I actually sort of like NV gunplay. More accurately, I like NV guns, which manage to make up a significant portion of Gamebryo's rather lovely vanilla shooter mechanics. On my last guy (a sniper) I was shooting home-made rocket bullets out of a giant anti-material rifle, switching to automatic rifles and shotguns to knock enemies prone and cripple limbs, and cooking grenades to throw into mobs. Plus all of that is super satisfying in terms of production design and sound design.

FO4 feels very limited in comparison, even if the mechanical feeling of shooting is more fun. Plus the gun designs look straight out of NERF and the sound is all really tinny and weak.

For minutemen, you'll have to do... retake the castle, old guns, and defend the castle, at minimum. Then talk to Preston and Sturges again.

After Bunker Hill, you can tell Father you're disgusted with him, and he kicks you out of the Institute. That fails your Underground Undercover quest with the Railroad and Desdemona tells you to use the Minutemen to assault the Institute

First time playing around with the heavier armors. The Eyebot armor looks both ridiculous and yet awesome. The Assaultron helmet is great, it pops open and closed when I ready my weapon, like Raiden's face armor. I love it.

I figured out how to get thruster arms on Ada thanks to someone from this thread but now it seems that having "normal" arms prevents you from attaching flamers and lasers to the thruster arms. Can anyone confirm if they got that to work?

It seems like it's basically a choice between 3 melee arms and 2 ranged arms with Handy torso/head, and 1 ranged head weapon and 2 ranged arms with any other torso/head combo. Hydraulic armor on thruster and all thruster legs gives a poo poo ton of armor too fwiw.

On the Xbox One you just say "me likey dat" and it puts itself on. I've not run into the 2GB limit yet, most of the things live installed are new game functionality rather than texture overhauls.

My settlements glitched out on my first play. On survival, I decided to only build sanctuary and stop with one productive adhesive farm to avoid this kind of thing. When I am away from sanctuary, the game doesn't seem to remember I have water, food, and beds, and keeps flashing [provide Sanctuary with clean water] etc... then slowly fixing if I crawl all the way back there. It has kinda ruined the game for me constantly getting pop-ups about water, beds, food. Is there a fix besides uninstall?

No, this happens to me, too and it seems to have to do with distance from the workbench - e.g. water "exists" if you have sixty hand pumps next to the work bench, but "doesn't exist" if you have a few water purifiers down on the river. Same with beds. Unfortunately, Sanctuary is spread out, so unless you build an awning (or dgaf) between the workbench house and the house across the street, you lose the beds that are too far away.

This breaks for me, constantly, as well as being completely unable to assign people to supply lines in my latest game. I have the perk but not the option on any settler.

So inspired by that amazing Sanctuary build I've started to build my own little village there, It's looking cool so far, I'll probably post some stuff in here once I'm happy with it. Only problem I'm having at the moment is that the BOS keep sending vertibirds over the town and it aggros every single settler, follower, guard dog, turret, Minutemen patrol and Trashcan Carla's in the area. Ive about 24 people living in sanctuary not counting visitors so it gets really crazy, with the Minutemen spamming molotovs while the Vertibird strafes my turrets and my dogs and then goes home. Dogs got stuck in their downed state so I had to go Old Yeller on them too. Thing is I'm IN the BOS, me and Danse go on missions all the bloody time!

How do you stealthy cloaky low DT people deal with high level rad scorpions?

Sniping them if usually out of the question because they are so resilient. If I throw a grenade or fire a missile it will just teleport to me before the projectile explodes.

I actually did that two years ago with my wife. Goodsprings is by far the most accurate location and it's eerie how recognizable it is.

What's really eerie is that Goodsprings is actually a terrible little town and when you drive through it you could easily believe that it has already been destroyed by post-nuclear societal collapse.

From the link like...3 posts up probably Cabazon, California a creationist museum that has a large concrete T-Rex (that you can go up into), but no real town near it. So the motel was probably added so they could make that no vacancy joke.
