It's not really close to Hetalia's weirdness, like the Russian team drives Russian tanks and are good in the snow that's about it. G Gundam is weirder about national stereotypes.

It's less a 'celebration' or whitewashing of national histories like Hetalia is, and celebrating the awesomeness of tanks and all things tank-related- you're not going to find concentration camp or other atrocity apologists or the like among the cast. Basically, GuP is less about the girls or where they come from, and more about the Panzers. I'm not kidding, the tanks get far more screen time and in some cases, even more characterization compared to the girls. But this isn't the GuP thread, it's the fanart thread, so:       (Kelly's Heroes is referenced at least once in the series)      Also, the History Club is the best club (not strictly fanart, but eh):

Don't worry, nobody dies, it's all somehow really, really safe and the girls are all superhumans. Seriously, in one of the OVA episodes two girls are knocked out of their 3-ton tankette (a CV-35) and turn it over like a gokart before piling back in.

GuP is basically a fluffy, non-serious sports show where the protagonist and her friends team up and win with the power of friendship. Of course, the sport in question is tank combat. Not for everyone, to be sure.
