Bellator does a lot of shows in St. Louis now that Coker's in charge and Missouri has a surprisingly competent athletic commission from what I understand. That said, Coker has a feeder league relationship with the Shamrock FC guy who is shockingly not related to the Shamrock Bros., so I guess cultivating that relationship for easy access to the lightly-seasoned-but-unknown-enough-to-work-for-peanuts prelim filler talent Bellator relies on is worth risking having one of your star athletes exposed as a geriatric steroid demon before his heart can explode at 42 years old.

I've submitted some research to LobsterMobster and I expect she will publish it all in a more readable format in the future, but until then here are some highlights for Missouri: "A contestant licensed by the office may be required to submit to any medical examination or test ordered by the office prior to participation in a bout, including a drug test." This sentence indicates that they do not actually do any testing but they reserve the right if they want to (hahaha yeah right). Missouri also has a weird law that prohibits promoting a combative fighting event but excluding MMA. Here is a cheatsheet, current as of 2012, of all commissions (including the reservations) regulations and stuff. It's literally the only thing I can find with any kind of rules and regulations for the tribal athletic commissions and it's pretty much what you would expect. It also confirms that Missouri is pretty lovely.
