This is shaping up to be cute, in tone as well as art style. Full color, with soft tones in a style that looks like paint. http://kissmanga.com/Manga/Hide-in-the-Flowers Only 2 real chapters so far, though. Shoujo-ai at a wizard school. Low-key magic, no fireballs or anything. Closer to Flying Witch's handling of magic. The most overt magic so far has been a shot of broom riding and the teacher bopping students with floating papers.

I'm looking for recc'd josei manga featuring 20-30 aged female MCs that aren't 100% focused on relationships but on their careers. Some manga I liked would be Kimi wa Petto before I got into drama hell for the last few volumes. ParaKiss had a nice realistic ending where the MC goes off to have a modeling career. Another manga I wished had more updates would be Otoko no Issho but not a huge fan of Ane no Kekkon due to affair theme. Although I liked the earlier chapters of Nana but extreme melodrama killed my interest quickly. Currently reading: Kuragehime 3 am Dangerous Zone Cheese in the Trap Sekine-kun no Koi (Ikr but such a cute series) Love is Hard for Otaku

& - has both job stuff + romance, the mc starts her own business Suppli - I *think* it has a pretty good amount of job/career content, but tbh I own all the books that got an English release but have only read about half the first volume so I can't say for sure Please Love the Useless Me - more about romance but finding a job and getting along w/coworkers is also a pretty big part of the story

Datte, Oishii No Ga Warui. (mangago link, possibly nsfw) Collection of one-shots, just two out so far but they're good and the art is fantastic. I'm reading the other book by the same author that's being translated and it's interesting so far as well. All For You! - if Miyano was a shoujo protagonist There's a second chapter available, it just isn't on batoto yet looks like. e: also Namaikizakari has finally reached cute couple stage; it was annoying waiting for it to reach that point but I think one of the strong points it has is Yuki's characterization -- she's super tsundere so that was kind of obnoxious but her motivations for why she acted that way have always been pretty clear and consistent, and the big thing for her was to work hard and do her best so now she's trying to work hard at being a girlfriend and it's really cute, and makes what would otherwise feel like a reversal (since she's been running from Naruse the whole goddamn manga) actually make sense for her character. I was an avid follower of Namaikizakari, but the gap between updates plus the extra drama in the fifth volume made me lose track of it. On a plus side, this comment made me marathon through the rest and their relationship development  Yuki's character is also a huge reason why I liked the series so much when it first came out. Her fretting about relationships?? and Naruse being a total alien?? make a lot of sense with her background and all. Still looking forward to seeing all of the family get more than a couple pages of screentime. also series that actually follow the main couples' progress after they get together are an instant +, just throwing that out there

I mean the tragedy tag on kissmanga isn't necessarily a dealbreaker, much like the ecchi tag doesn't automatically make a series worthless. Unfortunately lately I've been 0 for 2 for tragedy series with fuuka and this one, haha

I ran across one today that I'd forgotten about and re-read (tbh I didn't realize I'd read it before until I got started) - Natsuiro Danshi It's not a terribly original plot by any means, but if you like this kind of friendship-to-love schoolboy romance it does a very solid job. If you've already read all the big name stories and are looking for more it's a good one to try out. It also has some cute visual gags and is charming despite the art being a little rough around the edges.

Anyone reading Koi-iji?  https://bato.to/comic/_/comics/koi-iji-r13026 The story follows a girl named Mame, whose family runs a public bath in Tokyo. She has held on to feelings of unrequited love for her childhood friend for ten years. A cute new series about a girl and the boy who sits next to her in class just popped up on Batoto. Unfortunately the guy doesn't make a bunch of weird toys like in Seki-kun, but the girl's reactions are pretty similar to Yokoi's. Hopefully he gets some speaking lines in the upcoming chapters though.

Love So Life just finished up after 106 chapters. If you haven't checked it out, it's a super cute manga about a teenage babysitter and the twins she's taking care of. There's also a romance with an older guy but it's not as important as the twins. http://bato.to/reader#3d239537c4ec9915
