I wear it on my left wrist, never tried it on the shifter side. I get in 6000 on a bad day, target is 10k, and once in a while I get 15-20k on really active days that include the gym.

This long weekend coming up hopefully will have me replacing the valve cover gaskets on my EJ253. I hope I have enough room to do them in the car (sohc, if anyone cares). I was wondering if there are any special tools I might consider picking up since there is so little room to work with down there? Like ratcheting box-end wrenches and the like? Also, what kind of cleaner is good at getting oil and grit off the underside of engines? I was thinking simple green/water in a spray bottle and a shitload of shop rags/shop air.

I can't speak for that car specifically but racheting wrenches are amazing an are always the kind of thing I wish I had so they might be worth getting anyway. Foaming engine degreaser is awesome for degreasing engine with a foaming action.

She has to do this, so she marks rough driving times. Before she realized it, she had a 92k step day. Now, with corrections (which are probably losing her steps), she does 10-15k in a busy day. I work from home. Unless the fitbit counted "me" time, I'd be like 200 steps

Frontier - the company that keeps on loving you. Cancelled the whole thing and closed the account, since not only could they not install service, but they wanted me to mail copies of my ID and social security card. They told me this after I paid the deposit that held up the original installation. I was told that the deposit charge would reverse and shouldn't ever post. It posted. I called back, they couldn't find me without an account number. I disputed the charge. Bank called today and set up a conference call - suddenly Frontier could find the very-much-open account. In theory, they've promised a reversal within "7 working days". Bank was happy with that, but bank told me if I don't see a credit within 15 calendar days, get back in touch and they'll take the money back. That's in the summer though, winter usually chops it to like ten or lower.When we visited Japan I was (according to the phone) walking 20-25 km a day. Miss that. You'll need a fuckload of patience. I loathed doing this job on an EJ20T, dunno if it will be any easier on a NA engine. Easily one of the most irritating things I've ever replaced on any car, ever. Drive to a DIY car wash station, spray degreaser all over and let it sit for a bit. Then use the wash station to spray it down and drive it home. I don't think you need any special tools.

I did this recently, 06 Outback SOHC. I didn't have room and had to loosen the engine mounts and jack up the engine to get the drat things off. I could get all the bolts out but the covers wouldn't come out until I cleared more room around the frame rails. It's such a pain in the rear end job for what is so easy on a normal inline 4. I didn't use anything special but normal 3/8 sockets and a ratchet, IIRC.

I'm at a crossroads with my aftermarket TPMS. Back in 2011 I got an Orange TPMS kit, the 409s. I had the sensors installed and custom mounted the display inside a blank panel in my overhead console. I generally like the display although it only shows PSI, temp or volts, not all three at once. After about 4 years, two of the sensors stopped talking and Orange told me to replace them as the batteries were internally fixed. OK, off to eBay, $70 for two. Installed, fine. Now, the other original two are bad and here's the question, do I spend another $70 for two more sensors, or spend $80 to $100 for an entirely new TPMS? The other system I'm looking at is the Carchet CQ572 which has sensors that mount to the valvestem, with batteries that can be replaced. Big plus, although they look a little ugly. I would then need to re-fab a mount for the display. So, $70 to fix what I have or $80-100 (eBay vs. Amazon) for a new setup? The reviews of the two are pretty much the same. #tpmstrouble

Even when I walk her I might break 6k steps because little dogs and hot weather means I can maybe make her walk 2 miles. Oddly enough, my phone did not track the ~3 hours I spent digging a couple of stumps out of my yard. Apparently the best way to remove stumps involves an old fire axe. I have much nicer axes, but I didn't feel bad blindly trying to cut roots that were still buried in the dirt with that one. Also my arms/hands now hate me after doing that.

I have a new job starting in August (gently caress yes), so I'll start rocking up the steps pretty good. Speaking of wood, I had 2 cords of firewood delivered - one birch, one jackpine. For using in both the outdoor fire pit, and the fireplace inside (birch only, gently caress pine with an inside system). Stacking that much wood is a ton of work :P hahahha I actually enjoy it, kind of relaxing to have a definitive start-end project that has a direct payout (fire!). My arms just aren't used to that much work :P
