Well, people are still playing the game, and they're still issuing merch and doing live squid sisters concerts, so I don't think they're going to shut down the servers anytime soon.  I mean, I'm certainly going to keep playing after the last Splatfest.The best case scenario would be that they replace Splatfests with something else. But knowing Nintendo they're just going to yank them and change nothing. Wishful thinking time: This is all leading up to an announcement of Spla2oon, releasing first on the Wii U then as an NX launch title.

But I mean, considering support for your average AAA greybrown military shooter dries up after a couple of months and they're already well on their way to pushing the next edition at this point in their lifespan, I think it's still pretty drat good. I doubt they're going to shut the servers down or anything on one of their most popular games, if that's what you're suggesting.

I'm cool with them not adding any new stuff at this point but it'd be nice if they had kept doing splatfests for at least another few months. This is one of their few Wii U hits and it'd be smart to build its reputation as a reliable evergreen shooter. I mean it still is great but if I'd bought the game recently I'd feel bummed they were stopping splatfests, they make the community feel more alive. Plus the music owns.

I voted for Kelp Dome. I like Kelp Dome, but I feel like it's never in the rotation. Piranha Pit is A) terrible and B) always up when I'm playing. If Piranha Pit somehow makes it into the final splatfest, I hope Callie and Marie both lose to ... I don't know, their brother Roy or something.

Team Callie will crush the Maries once and for all  .Also Splatoon on NX would almost certainly be a new game rather than the original dragged on. It'd set them up to make a larger, better, release from the ground up that lasts the life of the NX instead of a zombified shambling mess made of frankensteined code stitched on top.

Some small tidbits from today: New Art Academy competition is up, with the current theme set as "Splatfest Memories". Also, Wii Karaoke U will have three Splatoon songs to torture your friends and neighbors with in the near future.

I had about ten or so matches in a row against this Dual Squelcher who I was trolling with Seekers; I must've gotten her fifteen times, she only got me once and even that was a trade. Eventually, one match, she was on my team. I guess she was really mad though cause she spent the entire match super jumping on me. Anyway I thought it was kind of cute lol.

All the Miiverse Posts in my plaza are about saving Splatfest. It's kind of depressing, but on the other hand Spyke just gifted me some rolls that make for a sick L3-D set, so I choose to think about that instead.
