From the site of an elaborate parody stunt by the Yes Men, for a fake charity giving guns to poor people who can't afford one. Commercial you can expect to get taken down. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NavzGE_lg6I NRA went so scorched earth on their DMCA notice they got every site hosted by the same provider (38,000+) taken down.

Many founding fathers were arguing against the ability for the commoner to take up arms against the state. George Washington was so aghast at Shays' Rebellion that he came out of retirement, took on the presidency, and then used his new found Constitutional powers to curb stomp the very similar Whisky Rebellion. His contemporaries were basically like... "yeah, this is about what we want, thanks dude". George Washington writing to Henry Lee posted:You talk, my good sir, of employing influence to appease the present tumults in Massachusetts. I know not where that influence is to be found, or, if attainable, that it would be a proper remedy for the disorders. Influence is not government. Let us have a government by which our lives, liberties, and properties will be secured, or let us know the worst at once. Washington was not alone in wanting government and rule of law to prevail. There were definitely other factors that led to the change from Articles of Confederation to the Constitution (Federalism), but this topic was not minor. Yes Jefferson was very laissez faire, perhaps even correct, but he did not represent a majority voice. I think the whole topic is really interesting, especially in our modern times. Imagine this: [Note: not intended to be taken as a metaphor] George W. Bush leads a war against a tyrant which enlists millions of Americans. 8 years later citizen/soldiers come back to find that Big Banks are in the process of foreclosing on their homes and businesses. Foreclosure is due to non payment, but non payment is due to a lack of salary by the military. Attempts to address the issue politically and judicially are met with indifference or derision. The soldiers, at their wits end, initially try to picket the courthouses in order to have their cases heard. Frustrated at a complete lack of response, the soldiers decide to follow the lead of George W. Bush to take up arms against this tyranny. Big Banks and local governors pitch in some money and hire Blackwater to disperse the soldiers and arrest the leaders. Blackwater steals weapons from a local Army base, wounds a bunch of rebelling soldiers, kills a few, and hangs some of the leadership. George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter, and most of their entourage freak the gently caress out. They help dissolve the Constitution and give the federal government new authoritarian control. A few years later the same event happens, except George W. Bush uses his newfound powers to forcefully put it to an end. There are a few grumbles, but generally everyone rolls their eyes. John Kerry is in France and says "Ok guys you gotta admit what you did was pretty dick. Those citizens were in the right you and know it." He convinces some of his powerful friends to complain, and a compromise is reached. 230 years later, this compromise is contentious because of a comma. Also, most people remember Bush, Kerry, Reagan et. al. as being of single mind and opinion. "While on the subject of papers, permit me to ask one from you. You remember the difference of opinion between Hamilton and Knox on the one part, and myself on the other, on the subject of firing on the Little Sarah, and that we had exchanged opinions and reasons in writing. On your arrival in Philadelphia I delivered you a copy of my reasons, in the presence of Colonel Hamilton. On our withdrawing, he told me he had been so much engaged that he had not been able to prepare a copy of his and General Knox's for you, and that if I would send you the one he had given me, he would replace it in a few days. I immediately sent it to you, wishing you should see both sides of the subject together. I often after applied to both the gentlemen, but could never obtain another copy. I have often thought of asking this one, or a copy of it, back from you, but have not before written on subjects of this kind to you. Though I do not know that it will ever be of the least importance to me, yet one loves to possess arms, though they hope never to have occasion for them. They possess my paper in my own handwriting. It is just I should possess theirs. The only thing amiss is, that they should have left me to seek a return of the paper, or a copy of it, from you"

He was in France during the writing of the Constitution and had almost zero input on its drafting, as it was mostly done behind close doors. So actually, no, it's not at all about being able to revolt or threaten democracy with guns. Jefferson pictured in 1786 in London while serving as foreign minister for the Confederated Congress.

So, presumably that dude adopted his first name in solidarity with oppressed people of colour everywhere and opposition to the use of racial epithets, comparable to how Helmut Herzfeld changed his name to John Heartfield in response to anti-British fervour during WWI.
