I learned this past weekend that all of Sublime's famous songs come from one album, and it was released after the lead singer Bradley Nowell died of an overdose. I knew their lead singer had died in the mid 90s but I had no idea the band wasn't even famous yet when he died.

I feel like you could have saved yourself some time by writing "they had some earlier songs that were also popular"

Perhaps that is the road you should have taken.

I think the "famous" one is the eponymous 3rd album. The one with "Santeria".

No, my fandom of Sublime is entirely casual, based on what I hear on the radio. And all I ever hear on the radio is What I Got, Santeria, and Caress Me Down. Their self titled album is also their only album that is on multiple lists of the best albums of the 1990s.

If I have offended your sensibilities, please try to move on from it, hard as it may be.

You're trying to make the argument that people know Sublime from more than that one album and you don't go with Smoke Two Joints?

Sorry, I've got all their albums and been listening to them since high school but 40oz was the one I remember best.

They weren't but they sure as hell are now. (If you can show me a bunch of people who actually still want to listen to Desperado or Tequila Sunrise, I'll call them a three-hit wonder but I don't think that's going to happen.)

I assume Hotel California is the one-hit song, but back to my radio thing, I actually hear Take It Easy on the radio more than any of their other songs. fwiw, which is very little!

I think it was about 1999-2000ish before I could reliably distinguish Kevin Spacey and Nicolas Cage. They do have a very slight resemblance but mostly it's that I'm just bad at recognizing people.

I confuse Matt Damon with Brad Pitt (not to look at them but talking about movies they've been in)

I confused Kevin Costner with Michael Keaton when I was a kiddo.

Because of the comedy 'k' sound I'm sure.

The former of course is my latent homosexuality.

I always forget which is which when talking about movies starring Bill Pullman and Bill Paxton. They looked a little bit similar in their younger days, Pullman's fairly inoffensive, Paxton always comes across as a smug rear end in a top hat even if his character isn't meant to be and I hate him. At least he gets his comeuppance at the hands of all three big '80s sci-fi villains, so he doesn't ruin those movies for me. :v: Apollo 13, on the other hand, could've done better casting-wise.

Also I get the various Baldwins mixed up, but I suppose that's because they're brothers and actually do look alike.
