weird that a support class would involve making calls to teammates to tell them where to go to get healed

I like the idea of shooting a s76 heal grenade somewhere, because it means the heal sniper can sit back and throw it in choke points to help the team get through without risking much personally which no other healer can do. You could use it to breadcrumb your team into a good position.

Yeah, in my mind Zen and sniper healer end up in the same niche. Personally I wish they were working on some kind of tanky short range healer I can switch to when I'm getting dived and instantly murdered by the enemy team.

Lucio is kind of that way if you count speeding around and jumping with his healing mode on a lot as "tanking."

I agree that a "paladin" or crusader style healer would be great, though.

Machete, I need you and a few other goons for an idea tonight. This idea involves a few things:

Step 1: Gibraltar
Step 2: Attack
Step 3: Take the first point
Step 4: Switch to 6 Bastions or 3 Bastion/3 Torb
Step 5: plop one Turret mode (or turret) on each floating platform
Step 6: Watch the horror

How would it be any harder than bodyshotting an enemy as Widowmaker? Both allies and enemies have a tendency to move in predictable patterns that you can exploit.

Overpwn doesn't have a source link, but here's the notes:
GENERAL

Competitive Play
The duration of Sudden Death has been adjusted across all maps from 1m45s to the following values:
Assault:
Hanamura – 1m35s
Temple of Anubis – 1m30s
Volskaya Industries – 1m35s
Escort:
Dorado – 1m30s
Route 66 – 1m35s
Watchpoint: Gibraltar – 1m35s
Hybrid:
King’s Row – 1m30s
Numbani – 1m50s
Note: Sudden Death duration is unchanged for Hollywood, which remains at 1m45s

BUG FIXES

General
Fixed a bug that prevented Overtime music from playing on Escort and Assault/Escort maps, if they payload was nearing the final checkpoint
Fixed a bug where display settings weren’t always saved after restarting the client
Fixed an issue that sometimes caused the in-game UI to display incorrectly at 4k resolutions
Fixed a bug where sometimes the wrong player level would appear in the Social menu

Maps
Fixed an issue with collision not blocking line of sight on certain areas of Nepal

Heroes
Fixed a bug that caused Mercy’s Caduceus Staff beam to disconnect from its target if the player a) quickly switched between healing and damage beams by holding down both mouse buttons and/or b) was facing away from the target at the time of the switch
Fixed even more bugs that allowed Reaper to Shadow Step to unintended locations on certain maps
Fixed a bug that caused Winston’s melee attack during Primal Rage to inconsistently hit targets in range
Fixed a bug that sometimes caused Zarya’s alternate fire to scale incorrectly with her damage boost modifier

Competitive Play
Fixed a bug that caused the “Top 500” icon to incorrectly display for certain players in various places throughout the game UI
Fixed a bug that sometimes caused players’ Skill Rating to display as “64” during placement matches
Fixed an issue where if you left and rejoined an in-progress Competitive Play match, the game would still track the match as a loss in your placement match history and when determining the amount of Skill Rating you receive for completing a match even if your team won
Note: You must be present for the conclusion of the match to be eligible for the win. If you leave a match and do not rejoin again before it’s over, it will count as a loss both in your placement match history and when calculating your Skill Rating adjustment.
Fixed an issue where you would still receive a Competitive Play “leave” penalty even if you rejoined a match and completed it
Note: If you leave a single Competitive Play match more than 3 times, you will receive a Competitive Play “leave” penalty even if you complete the match.

how did the other team even get through the choke? I feel like you would have to work through so many waves of defense ults especially on two point maps.

I guess double lucio offense can rush the point pretty easily and make symmetra fairly weak.

Back when TF2 came out I suggested a syringe gun that fired healing syringes, everyone called me crazy because "the medic already has a ranged healing weapon". I was more picturing healing artillery, so I can look across the screen and see 3 teammates in the same corner all hurting for health, and fire a couple long range aid canisters their way- something like that, anyway. I was laughed out of multiple forums

I think a heal grenade is a funny idea, if you think about the type of healing Omniknight has in Dota, where it heals allies and harms enemies. Could make a fun dynamic with a tank.

Imagine if it was like Pharah, but her rockets healed.
Imagine if it was like Junkrat, but his balls bounced then healed.
Imagine if it was like Reinhardt, but his hammer ... healed.*

That is what I assumed this would be from the description. Mercy is all "it is going to be turned to VIOLENCE" and Torb is like "No, no, it just heals, I *swear*" and the end result is a gun that hurts enemies and heals allies.

They could all be fun if done right. You can do enough with second fires and skills and synergy between characters that mechanically all of these could be viable.

They would never do this because of griefing potential but I would make it chargeable and add knockback to friendlies so wounded teammates could run up to you and you could punt them back into the fight at rocket speed, fully healed.
